Title: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: Changy on June 01, 2008, 11:02:26 AM
Hey has everyone seen the new Aero Hand Protectors? They look very weird but I quite like them. What are your opinions on them? And would you buy them? I would! I think they look quite cool

I'm not a fan of Aero stuff at all im afraid. I just think all there equipment is too extreme.

Yeah same as me danny, i like the strippers but that is all.

Post by: gramw on June 01, 2008, 11:50:23 AM
yeah i have the strippers but wouldn't wear the pads, face masks or anything like that

Post by: stevie on June 01, 2008, 01:38:21 PM
Only thing i would wear would be strippers and even then i wouldnt as i use padmans and can't fault them. The aero hands to me just look so ridiculous i wouldn't think of wearing them.

The strippers are the only product I would wear aswell, I like the idea of the company and how its all "revolutionary", however I don't like much of the kit.

I just think the over complicate all their equipment. The strippers were great (still are) but I'm not a fan of any other products they have created.

Here's a funny scenario! Imagine the head of aero comes into this forum wishing to give us all free accessories and discount on soft goods and he looks in this topic whats he gonna see! :o

Its our OPINION though....
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: Changy on June 01, 2008, 04:07:14 PM
I know! and I'm not saying it's a stupid opinion, I'm just pointing out that he may be a little shocked

Its constructive criticism. He may come on this forum and think yes, maybe our designs are a tad OTT. Then he may bring out a new range of Aero gear that will take the cricketing world by storm?

Works both ways.

I think Philip knows that the designs will not be to everyones taste, the main selling point for them is performance.

Saying this, i wouldnt mind trying a set of pads in the nets.
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: stevie on June 02, 2008, 05:18:34 PM
Yh same here e-unit just to see how good they actually are. But then you would have to use them in a match because isnt the main selling point how light they are in comparison to other pads?
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: mullethigham on June 02, 2008, 07:51:12 PM
i dont think they look very nice
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: Nozza on June 02, 2008, 10:44:29 PM
Well they design their gear around performance and not focusing so much on "looks" like other companies do. you would have to question wheather you would rather a broken finger or look "like and idiot" I know which one i would choose.

Saying that everybody is entitled to an opinion and I have no problems with it! lol
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: Sameer on June 03, 2008, 08:42:46 AM
they look ok.. maybe a change of colour.. more white instead of spacey silver!

if they protect the hand.. and are light... then its all good

pity about the price though $129.90 (thats about £75 uk - I'll wait till they come down a bit in price tbh)
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: Sambo on June 03, 2008, 09:46:32 AM
quite frankly i dont like the look of any of their gear. but im sure the performance would better than average. thats what really counts though. if ya cop one on the legs at 130-140kph its gonna hurt if you dont have good protection

I've never had any problems or broken fingers with my gloves which I paid £10 for, so I think I'll be sticking with those  :)

Tom - any pics??

I saw GM hero gloves for 14 quid at TK Max.. cant remember if they was 303 or somthing else.
Then i thought 14 quid! they must be crap quality

They're just the plain white ones which I get made in India, but it's easy enough to get a set of SS Super Test gloves or SG Hi-Lite's in India for around £12-13 (or £25 in the UK). They're the exact same gloves as a lot of the Indian test team use.

Never had a broken finger and have alwayas managed to get by. Paying that sort of money you could get top of the range gloves from most if not all companies. I think their top of the range might just be good enough.

Think they look a bit weird but If you had all matching aero gear like the sponsored players do it looks cool just the gloves would look a little funky in my opinion.

i think they are trying to solve a problem that isnt there. if it ain't broke don't fix it! Tom would you like to sell me a couple of plain gloves :)

So your gloves never go "crusty" wow how do you do that. I need help as all of my pumas have?

Nozza, have you tried the Aero's, and have substantial evidence that aero's dont go 'crusty'?
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: dan_griffin11 on June 10, 2008, 11:13:46 AM
nope my gloves don't go crusty actually! as i wear inners, thats what i mean tho if thats there only plus, i'd much rather just get normal batting gloves
Title: Re: New Aero Hand Protectors
Post by: stevie on June 10, 2008, 08:12:07 PM
At least you can say proudly i look like a plonker wearing these  ;)
I'm sure they offer excellant protection but just cant get over the looks when you can buy top of the range gloves from probably any brand for the same price (i expect) and look normal.

Well if 75 smigaroons is the price tag.... that's absolutely rediculous!

No maxxed i have not tried them personally but I have had extensive talks with Roger face to face and with the materials they they are made out of the gloves will last far longer than conventional ones through as i said the advanced materials

I personally don't like them, I also think the fact they can only be used in conjunction with the aero grip will hold them back.
