I am a bit confused.
Most websites describe the Salix Strike as :
STRIKE (. . .a willow section from which saplings are grown)
Based on the Gem (made from 1991, an early short bladed bat, ideally shaped for limited overs) the new Salix Strike is a condensed Pod - fractionally reduced in width and length so the blade morphs out in depth to give a swollen driving area in a compact and punchy shape. The magnified middle and flared edges are further balanced by a slight drop in the shoulder line. It is the perfect transitional bat between sizes, especially as a first senior bat, but will also reward the aggressive player. A magnificently powerful bat with immense speed suited to all formats of the game.
All the Salix Strike bats I have seen have a standard width blade and the length of the blade (toe to shoulder edge)is 54cms. This is just 1cm shorter than the blade length on my other SH bats (55cms). This 1cm difference can be attributed to the shoulder drop as the length of the blade on the Strike is the same as on other SH bats if measured from the toe to the top of the splice.
I have discussed this with Andrew and he said apart from the shoulder drop rest all specs of the bat are same as a standard SH bat.
So why this discrepancy in the description of the bat?
Can anyone else who has a Salix Strike shed any light on this. Or any of the forum sponsors selling these bats shed some light.
