Got training there tomorrow night due to a match being cancelled. Anybody from Sheffield been there? Only opened in March so I've got high hopes! Any experiences?
-
Oooh whereabouts? I've been to the Devon Malcolm indoor school at Bawtry Lane as I used to play against Sheffield United
-
It's in Burngreave, looks really nice, 3 lanes, nice and long which is something I always feel is a problem - short sports hall nets. Apparently only £15/hour including bowling machine. Can see myself spending a lot of time there if it's good!
-
Went down there for nets tonight. The lanes are lovely and nice and long so plenty of run up space so it's easier to practice getting a rhythm off full run up! Great value as well at £15 per hour per lane, including use of bowling machine! Definitely going to be going back soon.
-
Anyone know if this place is still going?
-
Yeah it is. One of the oppo runs it. Not been for a while but he said it was still going when we played him 4 weds ago
-
I go every week. Still in decent shape. The lads that run it are really nice. £15 an hour.
-
£15 per hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christ on a bike that's cheap.
You lucky Northerners - I suppose these cheap prices make up for the drizzle, warm beer and lack of sanitation!
-
They're lucky to get 15 an hour out of us! Oop 'ere int'North that'll get thee a 3 bedroom semi and still have change for a flat cap and a whippet!
-
i have been here weekly for the last few weeks with a local club.
it still works - double length nets, 3 lanes, lovely chap who runs it whose name i ashamed to say i haven't picked up yet.
its on petre street through burngreave past some factories - i.e. not where you might be expecting.
rbanners
-
Naz is the main guy that runs it.
-
if its one like back of medohall on industrial type road?
its crazy bouncy lol
-
They have just put in some more lights which does seem to make a difference.
-
Played a bit of cricket with Naz. Top bloke - they all are - and a good facility at great prices!
-

Would people recommend this place or Dotball for nets in Sheffield? Any pros and cons for each? Me and a couple of mates might be passing through Sheffield in the coming weeks and were thinking of going for a net whilst we're there, just one lane obviously, ideally with a bowling machine.

ive been to both places either or mate similar set up.
If the sheff indoor has had new lights might be worth going there

Went to the indoor cricket centre last week. Couldn't fault it and an hr with a bowling machine for £17 seems reasonable

Yeah £17 including the machine sounds reasonable to me, does anyone have a rough idea what Dotball costs per hour? Doesn't say on their website.

Forgive my ignorance, what's Dotball?

It was £18 per hour for both lane and machine (if used on the shorter lanes). Price correct as of Nov 2015.

Cheers mate, good to know.

Thanks for that Smilley, top bloke. Think I'll just see which ones easier to get to on the way back north from B3 and go to that one, they both look pretty decent.
