Didn't watch all of it but I'd personally say your stance is too high, you should be in more of a crouch position to stay lower for longer, then rise up with the ball to take it.

i was so distracted by your mate's batting stance, his front knee is pointing towards you not the bowler!

your reflexes are quite good but anything coming through on a full/yorker length is going to give you huge problems if you dont get lower

yeah he has a pretty dirty  technique . and ive always played with quick bowlers so never really had to stand up before . should i be more leant over down ? or bring my feet closer and get lower ?

you need to squat down right to the floor and bend your knees so your backside is nearly touching your heels. I have my head forward of my body and my hands directly below my head with my fingers next to my little fingers touching the ground

ahh ok ill give it a go next time.. i think i wasnt leaning over as much as the ball tended to be bouncing head high of a good length really .. also am i getting to leg side of the ball ?

look to have good hands, reactions and reflexes. but jumping legside a lot looks like your trying to get out of the way of the ball

it was because the ball was popping like head high .. so i found it easier if i get to one side of the ball i can take it higher instead of standing directly behind it when the balls fuller and not bouncing as much i tend to take it infront of me

Pretty good for your first time! I'd agree with just getting your gloves touching the ground. Also try and keep your head as level  for as long as possible, it's so much harder to take the ball when your eyes aren't level as your perception of length is upset

Yeah ive got decent hands like .. just little things.. Only problem is because were on the astro net you get used to not having to get low as everything pops

Yeah it is hard to get good practice in. I find getting somebody to throw balls down around a half volley length on a real pitch helps enforce it. Not popular with the groundsmen but if you play across the pitch at either end with a set of springbacks turned sideways they usually cant complain

Hahaa, no drops this year mate ;)

Sneak on the pitch when groundsmans not there, i'll happily throw you some
Or if you want to challenge yourself, set those off spinners up on the bowling machine again, there deadly haha!

all i am gonna say is when u are talking the ball u are jumping and moving away from the stumps.. u are going backward then forward reaching for the stumps

try and take the ball and move forward all in one movment then your stumpings will be much much faster.

however as the ball is bounce high this sometimes can be difficult

Some good takes  :) if I was to offer any advice it would be to work on your footwork more as there are some balls in there that you end up diving for that you could reach easily with better footwork and this would in turn increase your coverage when you do have to dive.

I almost turned my laptop round at the start to view the video  :D

yeah i know the lad with the camera had a nightmare :P and because it was soaking wet it was hard to get your feet going as tended to slip a lot .. well do some more of it when its dry
