Title: Satisfaction
Post by: stevie on June 01, 2008, 01:58:23 PM
What dissmisals you take give you the most satisfaction. Mine would have to be stumpings as you have to concentrate and watch the ball all the way into your gloves and then take the bails off.

Well I like taking good catches because the batsman thinks "He's never gonna catch that!" which slowly turns to "He's getting very close to that" which then turns to "that little (No Swearing Please)!"

Oh I didnt realise this was for Wicket Keeping! I will then have to change it to stumpings too because they don't at all realise they are out of their crease

I remember seeing keeper and 1st slip colliding and the ball going for 4! I think it was during a match between teachers and students!

For me its then really fine edges. Especially when the batsmen tries to deny he ever hit it!

Diving leg side catches, or a leg side stumping

very few people outside a high level of cricket know that first slip should be deeper than the keeper. i can't really say what is the most rewarding for a keeper, but i can say for a first slip. the really low ones near the carpet. i drop more than i catch but when you get them. it's bloody awesome

All catches, I mean a one handed screamer means as much as a regulation edge.

My fav though was this blinder last year off a top edged bouncer down the leg side. Had to jump up and dive across and grasp it in the left glove!!

Did the aero pads mean you were aerodynamically enhanced, enabling you to snaffle the ball in your glove, from a cracking Brett Lee delivery...

yes that, or a stumping of a medium pacer especially down the legside, when its a yorker length, as no one expects you to take those.
Hops that makes sense?

love a stumping or diving catch mysefl but last year one springs to mind a sweep that hits the pad then the glove diving back across to the offside!
