Title: Shouldn't this be covered by the warranty ?
Post by: THERUBIN on May 08, 2012, 06:50:15 PM
The bat is bought last July and have only been training with it this year.

if you are quick with it, then yes probably, but it depends on the brand, as alot dont offer a warranty i dont think... :/ I could be wrong though, Im sure Mike or one of the sponsors could help me out there, but if it isnt covered by the warranty, I would get it repaired and taped mate

What brand is it? The willow looks strange, well the grains do. They don't seem to run vertically down the blade. I'd glue and pin it though if you don't get any luck returning it.

The bat is either covered by a warranty or it's not! Saying something like that is just an excuse and not a very good one at that...

Having said that, I can imagine you'd have to jump through a lot of hoops with the likes of GM/GN, Puma, Slazenger etc to get them to replace it after all this time....

I guess it is tricky. Under UK law, if a warranty is ofgered then fine bit under sale of goods, it has to last s reasonable time, and while that looks like a flae caused during the hsndle fitting, the length of time you've had it and therefore the conditions in which it was kept may be called into question.

Im just saying, that I have only had good experience buying from all the guys on this forum, untill now!
From now on, I will stick to the people that I know, have a good reputation and care about customer service..
So this is just my warning, so you guys don't end up in the same situation like me.

I have been told, that there is a concept called, 1 cricket bat for 1 player, has anyone els heard that ?
That means, if someone els are using your bat, the warranty disapears..

I think Lekka are proving how bad they are at customer service, No matter how many users a bat has, The warranty is for one year.

With so many brands in here, why not choose one with both good bats and customer service..
I will never recommend a LEKKA bat to anyone.

Is this the same as 1 car for 1 driver, or 1 washing machine for 1 person's washing. If the door handle falls off within the stated warranty period, if it doesn't fall off in the owner's hand, then the warranty is invalid?!?!

If on the other hand you weren't given a warranty (which you aren't entitled to...) then it's a different discussion.

If their was a 1 year warranty on this bat then this is one of the worst pieces of customer service i've seen

Is this a reply (The 1 cricket bat 1 player) from the same "Lekka global alliance" rep that used to be on the forum?

Is there a warranty on the bat? That's the first question. We've all been giving abuse to the customer service, but it has to be asked...

I actually agree in principal with that, after all if you sell a high performance bat with a warranty for a year you might expect that the bat will score 2,000+ runs but if 4 people used it then 8,000+ would kill it. Cars after all carry either a 5 year or 100,000 mile warranty as some will hit 100,000 in 2 years or under, harder to do with a bat.

However in this case it looks like a simple refusal to warranty the bat.

Plus the split in the shoulder is a manufacturing fault, which should be replaced by the brand anyway, if the bat had been extremely well used then you might say it has served it's purpose.

There was warranty on the bat, but I was told, that because that my brother have used the bat before me, the warranty has gone..

To Talismans comment about making more runs, I can say that the bat was bought in july and the danish season stops in september, so from september to march, is has only been used for practice one a week, for maybe february and march. Our season is only 14 odi, so an average is 500 runs ;)
