Title: Importance of twine type

Having used lots of bats, the twine is different on every bat. This begs the question, does it matter what type of twine is used on a handle? Bats range from this thin waxed lined thread to what is basically string - does it matter?

I would imagine that it does matter a bit.

I say this because if you have thin twine covered in solidified glue, it's going to absorb less of the kinetic energy transferred from the ball hitting the bat then if you have a thick soft twine which will absorb more of the energy. So a handle with thin twine should feel a bit stiffer. That's the basic science but I'm sure in practice the difference is negligible as there are so many mitigating factors suck as thickness of grip and spingyness of willow!
