as everyone is having to bat on these awful wet wickets at this moment in time, i just wondered what people's game plan is on these types of decks.
Myself i try and play as straight as possible, in the 'v' if you like unless its a real rank ball. i think you have to come to terms with the run rate isn't going to amazingly high.
Any thoughts?

I played on one yesterday that was as low and slow as any I have ever played on. The ball never bounced above shin height for the entire day and a coule of the bowlers playing were comfortably over 6ft 5in!!!
I reckon you've got it spot on, play in the 'v', play with a straight bat (no cross bat shots whatsoever) and adjust your mind to the fact that 150 is a great score.... ;)
I'm not going to complain about finally getting the chance to start my season but playing on wickets like this isn't much fun really.. :(

I played on one the other day and realise now patience is the name of the game especially when spinners and slow bowlers come on. I was wondering if anyone changed to a heavier bat to prevent being early on the shot.

Yeah I think you're right mike. Play as straight as possible and be patient. I had a game yesterday and was trying to not play on the backfoot.

We had better get used to slow tracks unless your lucky to play on covered wickets. Play straight and as late as possible, weight forward best advice I give myself. Martin crowe's batting master class DVD easily the best 15 quid I ever spent!

Watched one of our guys hit a couple of massive shots that would normally have been straight sixes high and not that long He stood and watched both as they landed and stuck. Should have run three each time and instead got singles.

Ive been batting about two foot out of my crease for the last few matches and its working at the moment. :)

Wet wickets are tricky, for me i just dab the ball around for singles and only go at the really bad balls .... long hops.
In a months time i'll be going through my shots fully and ramping up the strike rate.
I always remember a lot of overseas pro's having problems inthe early part of the season with the ball stopping on them, it happens to the very best batsmen in the world.

I've taken to playing my shots as late as possible, which although it hasn't bought me many runs it has allowed me to hang around for over an hour in both the games we've played so far this season whilst leaving our more aggressive batsmen get the runs, it's a tactic which worked really well for us in our last game when I came in at 7 with us 20 odd for 5!

No, not a member of the Oppo as such, though he was their ump.
The same ump then tryed to No ball our opening bowler for putting his plant foot outside the lines that are marked line used for a wide ball!
Yeah, work that one out!

keep it simple - punish bad balls, keep good ones out.
