This (sort of) follows on from the previous point regarding gold pads. I wondered what demand there is for coloured pads; the normal navy, maroon, green etc. We play a T20 league with coloured kit and I have sorced 2 pairs of navy pads.
Getting them wasnt easy though and I had a 7 week wait. I wondered since there is so much T20 cricket around these days why shops dont seem to stock them? Would you say there is much demand?
Cheers

This guy does coloured pads but I think they are all ambidex ones which aren't to everyone's taste.
I don't know what the lead time on orders is though.

I'm not sure that's his question I'm guessing it's more to do with why don't more shops stock the coloured pads in the first place?

hey i use cricket-box on a regular basis and there is always a stock of coloured pads in there :)

Thanks trypewriter and correct Greg. As I say, I now have some 'proper' pads in navy but couldn't help thinking that all coloured pads, unless specially ordered, came in an ambidextrous design (which I'm not sure I would trust if the ball hit them) and only in standard mens size.
Maybe Kerry Packer's idea hasn't quite made it t the masses...

We have some navy coloured pads in stock

I think ambi is probably more common since coloured pads are more likely to get shared around. Although pyjama cricket is more common these days it's still normally reserved for cup competitions as opposed to league cricket so pads might only get a run out once a season

H4l do you only have standard men's and how much are they?
-
Yes we do , they are £80

I think that maybe the reason that they aren't stocked so often is that unlike whites, which are universal, they are club/team specific, which means if you change clubs you have to change your kit to match?

I'm popping up to the Cricket Box first thing tomorrow to pick something up for my youngest - the hard part will be keeping away from the bats on display...

We have red, maroon, navy, royal blue and green in stock next week in ambi. They are the top range great white as used by our pro players. £50 rrp. No pictures available as we have just started stocking them. They have 1 knee roll logo and one strap logo as they are for use in ICC competitions and so have limited logos.
There isn't much request for them but as we have to supply our pro players we now have some in stock.
The question over ambi is a good one but we would not want to stock 2 handed types as you dont know what will sell.
The protection is the same in ambi if they are top range pads as they are designed correctly and this is the same for all manufacturers. You will find we all do them in the top range
