.... The sun is shining brighter than ever, no rain about.... What is going through your mind for the weekend ahead???
-
That for the first time in a while I don't have to think about how many jumpers to pack for tomorrows game!
-
runs, lots of them hopefully. Time to kick start the season. Opening tomorrow due to a lack of players (normally 3). Looking forward to it.
-
Cricket, cricket and more cricket. Hopefully some runs, wickets and a couple of wins! :D
-
See if we can get our first win in!
-
Panic at being told to take my own teas due to opposition reputation!

Ditto
-
keep our unbeaten streak going, take some wickets and score runs!
-
making the fielders suffer and scoring a shedload of runs
-
I can't get my mind past a gym assessment at lunchtime today that is going to hurt and is going to put my years of sex, drugs and Drum n Bass into full perspective ;)
Cricket in relation is the easy option.... :D
-
No game for me tomorrow as the team we were playing have dropped out the league. So I'll be sunbathing and consuming beverages more or less all day.
-
Already won our league game by default but have two good friendlies lined up for the weekend on good wickets so get head down, get into form, enjoy sunshine and hopefully stay unbeaten!
-
Follow up last weeks 9 overs, 3 wickets for 9 runs. First ever maiden last week!
-
I am looking forward to a track that is more consistant to bat on and to press on with our two wins out of two.
-
Hopefully do better than last Saturday's first baller. But as I'm in the 2's saturday i will probably be batting at 7 or 8 instead of number 1 in the 3's.
-
Keeping my fingers crossed for a decent track!
-
Don't want to play but told I had to as the 2s are short of players
-
tell them either:-
1. You want a proper game - bat or a bowl
or
2. Let off match fees if you are "thanks for coming"
They need you remember.

If this is directed at me, I pulled my thigh 2 weeks ago and have played every game since. I asked our 1s skipper if I could have 2 weeks off to recover as I don't want to be 5/6 weeks down the line still hindered by it. Having spoke to our 2s skipper who has acted like a teacher to me and I trust very well, he said they have 4 batsman this week and if I didn't play, they would be down to three.
As I can jog/walk quickly it appears as if I can still play, but knowing I can sprint and can only play averagely, it's frustrating when I'm playing.
Hopefully after tomorrow both captains can accept I need some time to recover and will exclude me from selection.

fair enough - sounded like a yank up lol
Still, if they had 11 and missing batting it's a little unfair to ask you to play injured (though we've all done it at some point).

Not looking forward to it for the first time this season. I played 2's all last season, withe the odd 1's game. This season I've started really well, played 1 2's game, and then played a 1's game last week where I did ok. The 1's don't have a game this week and the 2nd team skipper has chosen not to pick me and put me in the 3rd team despite me averaging 43 so far this season and scoring the most runs so far. I'm pretty annoyed as I keep too, and the guy keeping in the 2's got 0 last week and the Skipper apparently "wants to get some players a game" because they're not always available, it's a farce.
-
The worst part from my point of view is fielding. I like fielding and cutting off runs, running people out etc, but knowing full well that I can't run I feel less threatening and more just 'stood there' for 45 overs. Batting I could just hit more boundaries, but picking up quick singles becomes not an option.
It's hard to play in another way that what I'm used to.
-
sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Best stand at slip and do the teapot all afternoon :D
-
Bat first, get 300-0, fill up on teas, get more tanned.
Hope it goes something like that
-
just hope we win the toss! gonna be a scorcher and we're on one of the leagues best tracks.

Looking forward to playing in sunny weather finally and hope to bowl well tomorrow as I've been selected for the 1s in a friendly match. I've then got a T20 on Sunday morning then an Afternoon friendly match.
