Due to the recent KP incident, anyone got any history on why a lot of pros dislike him? Or is that just my imagination?
-
I would imagine it has something to do with him being massively opinionated, while being distinctly (being kind) average himself.
-
I think it's more about KP believing he is above criticism! What Knight said about him was perfectly fair....
-
The best thing Nick Knight did was get injured so Trescothick could make his ODI debut
-
The best tihng Knight ever did is face the first 100mph ball
-
There must be some history there because i've never felt Nick Knight oversteps the mark although he is a fairly boring, give me Bumble and Michael Holding any day!
As for him being average, i'm sure he averaged over 40 over quite a few ODIs which is more than Stewart, Trescothick and Strauss. And considerably more than Michael Vaughan!
-
Personally I was always a huge fan of knights and he was massively under-rated

Actually he faced the first two 100mph develeries - unless Thompson and Lillee bowled that fast.
As pointed out be Athers in the times today, it does seem a bit odd/hypercritical that a journalist is allowed to to make a view of a player, but a player isn't allowed to have a view on a pundit...
-
Think he is 4th in the England odi averages so knows how to bat. I would think Kp should concentrate on scoring runs against one of the weakest attacks in world cricket.

I agree. KP seems to have no idea how to avoid attracting problems for himself!

The way you poms handled them you would swear Lillee and Thompson bowled hand grenades Buzz... ;) of course they bowled that fast 8)

Nick Knight decent batter, woeful commentator, as are some many of the sky pundits - cant understand why sky don't get rid of them, there must be better, must be...
-
Excuse my ignorance but what was the recent incident with KP?
-
I just wana say people are having a dig at Nick knight , what about Ian Ward??

yes, ward is rubbish too, there are a few hopless ones on Sky, I'm really not sure why, there must be better out there...
-
I heard on Channel 5 Cricket that KP had a fine of £3000. What do we think of that??
-
I bet Nick Knight was more popular than KP in the dressing room as a player.
As talented as KP is he is incredibly full of himself and certainly feels he is above the law.
Knight doesnt offer much as a commentator but there are worse out there on Sky.

The only time I ever listen to the commentary and not tms instead or test match sofa is if bumble or holding are On. The rest are cack.

Or Nasser
-
Interesting to read the different views on the Sky pundits. We get the Sky telecast here in Australia when England play and I actually enjoy the different voices. Holding and Bumble are my favourites too, but I think Atherton is one of the most insightful and articulate commentators around; enjoy the banter between Botham and Nasser; don't mind Gower either. It sure beats the likes of Ian Healy, Mark Taylor and Michael Slater. Good players though they were, they're awful commentators.
-
Agreed, apart from the class act Benaud the Aussie commentators are predictable and the ramblings monotonous. I do enjoy Warne on SKY sports and Tony Greig on Channel 9.
Danny Morrison I cant handle and he makes the IPL painful watching....or perhaps listening.
