Hello everyone.
Need some advice or help with this.
Bought off Tom Evans (He knows about the damage)
Used in two matches and has scored about 75 runs
Used for a max of three hours in nets prior to game time
What is the best course of action?
Where do I as the buyer stand?
Is it a fault with the willow?
Are there any GN employees who can help?
I know that Tom is not liable for the breakage but he is doing his best to help and I commend that.
The annoying thing is that this was bought for a team mate as a replacement for another GN that broke, was repaired and then fatally broke again.
The first bat, a GN ignite, was sent back to GN back but nothing could be done. They offered to replace it at a cost of £90, a price which my mate would never have paid.
I am the middle man, and I am trying my best to help out my mate.
Any advice would be greatly received
Dan

Ouch, that's nasty!
-
Ring GN and ask them for the returns address and mention the bat or perhaps drop them an email also with pictures etc etc, they should offer you a replacement bat hopefully but again its down to their discretion.
-
I have spoken to the guys at GN about replacing a bat once before, and it has to go back through the retailer!
-
I'm happy to arrange all the returns via the retailer, if necessary.
It was bought new approx 7 months ago

I think fault lies in your mate, why is every GN breaking ? ;)
Ask him to switch to another brand, no more brand loyalty lol.
-
Take it back to the shop, it shouldn't brake like that, they need to replace it...

Do you want me to deal with them direct? Or shall I send the bat back to you mate?
-
bought new 7 months back should be fine as this obviously is a fault in the bat and not simply standard wear and tear in my opinion. I would email Tom and im sure he will sort this for you no problems.
-
got to say that is SOME crack!

I had a GN which I bought off eBay about 3 years ago where this happened, I sent them an email, they told me to send it back and they sent me a brand new 'un!
-
What happens if Tom cannot find the receipt of purchase though?

"You will also need to detail where the item has been purchased from with proof (e.g. receipt, credit card statement, bank statement) and explanation of why it is not possible return the item to your retailer."
I can give them the paypal invoice but that is all. I don't really want to pay a tenner to send it back for them to say "sorry there is nothing we can do" (which has happened before with GN)

Is the letter on the shoulder proof of age?

All sorted. Thanks GN for a top service. It got replaced for a brand new Quantum 4 star.
