Title: Super broken GM Icon Original
Post by: Kulli on June 06, 2012, 08:15:39 PM
Another broken bat, has the old edition stickers on it but was only bought at the beginning of last season (in  NZ so can't really be returned to the retailer), and only used in around 10-11 games( plus probably around 20-30 nets) due to the player who owns it's father taking ill back home in SA.

Obviously not repairable but do you guys think it's worth contacting GM, obviously it's a bit more hassle than if we lived in the UK. I know these things happen but it's not a lot of use to get from a bat after shelling out 300 notes!

Looks like a storm damaged cleft to me, just how it's split. I'd contact GM!

They could credit your local retailer so wouldn't have to mess around with shipping costs etc.

Haha, well it is!

Feel sorry for you mate, my Gray Nichols did this a few years ago, mind it was 2 or 3 seasons old by then

Yeah, I said storm damaged to my mate too.

Our nearest retailer is probably somewhere in the North East of England unfortunately.

My Icon fissured in virtually exactly the same manner after a few net sessions nearly two years ago.

GM kindly replaced it for me for gratis via owzat cricket.

Excellent customer service all round.

Just to add, having realised it had now been two week I send a mail to Edward Lowry through the forum, received a reply from Steve Wilkinson within an hour, and after a few more emails and pictures they offered to replace it FoC. Top customer service even if i had to use a service not open to the average punter to get there.

Yep, and GM have likely won themselves a customer for life as he had put it in the bin before I said it looked like the sort of damage that they'd probably replace.

Yeah, the only downside was 2 weeks with no reply when i just used the email quoted on the website, one of the perks of posting here I guess.
