Howcome you offered postage to me at 50 pound ?
-
If we go through our corier he charges £40 to 50 bur since then I found out if I can send it via Royal Mail and if it is just a bat, the postage charge is approx £25.
So it is up to the customer what method he wants us to use. Via the Courier is more secure.
I am working with our courier to see if he can offer me better rates.
I hope this answers ur question.

Why import one? There are a number of very good companies based in Oz that use English willow. Screaming Cat - based in Victoria is the latest company set up by Julian Miilichamp (of Millichamp and Hall & Puma fame - trained like many of the current bat makers by the late John Newbury). He has made bats for most of the top Aussie players. Then there is Fisher bats in Melbourne. When I spent a season in playing there most of the guys in the club I played for used Fisher bats - I beleive he had previously made bats for Ponting and Dean Jones amongst others, I visited is workshop as i was contemplating getting a more Australian shaped bat - higher middle lighter wieght that the other guys in the team were using or aleast a bit of wieght taken off my Newbury for the Quicker tracks. I think there are a number of other companys around Oz producing great bats using English willow. Then across the Tasman sea there is Laver & Wood who I believe has a good reputation who picked up his craft from Julian Millichamp.

If still interested I will be importing some AS bats in to Australia and could get you sorted for a bat. if you pm me your price range and needs I can let you know what sort of deal I can do.
AS Bats all have very good willow (the lower-middle range bats have willow that I would expect to see in the top bats in GCCC for example), thick edges and good pickups.
