as the name suggests, what would you forumites reccomend out of these two brands? have only seen positive reviews about both on performance, which do you think is better value for money? and which is the 'better' of the two?
thanks guys

Cant comment on H4L as ive never owned one however i have had many Laver bats and i rate them very very highly, the only thing is the vat and custom charges you get hit with when you get a Laver.
-
Neither is really better, I'd say. Certainly the H4Ls have always been better value for money given the prices of Lavers, but you get exceptional ones of both... I don't think you'd go wrong with either, and H4L are a lot more local...
-
H4L probably. Just got a lovely bat from them for £200, goes like a train on meth. Laver are probably as good etc - limited personal experience - but you'll never get one for the same money...

having owned both i would say they are both really really good, it all comes down to your budget..

all 3lb bats should go like trains of meth!!

Ive had a laver, but both my match bats are now h4l. I think h4l are better value for money. Although both probably get some of their willow from the same place. If you decide to go with either of these companies you will more than likely get a great bat!

Thanks guys I have PM'd matt about adding a H4L to my collection, will wait and see his reply

Just a quick note to say that VAT and Customs are not an issue for UK destined L&W bats any more as we are sending the bats to a colleague of ours who then pays the fees and forwards the bats on.
This is what is holding your bat up Tim and i will update you on that shortly!
Cheers guys and we hope your new H4L goes well Leachy!

So are you just adding this to the actual price of your bats so rather than the bat cost £220 plus shipping it now costs £250 plus p&p so isnt a discount? looks too good to be true to loose the 20% vat and customs charge of say £15 and then another postage on top. That would work out around £50 discount if not more Andy ?
-
H4L seem to consistently knock out much adored and respected bats - I've had a few in the flesh and they're great workhorses. Must say I've also seen (and own) a few really special Lavers though - plus I think the Ultra is one of the best bat shapes ever made.
Either way you've namechecked my 2nd and 3rd fave brands so I dare say you'll do just fine!
-
whats your favourite brand dan aha?

We are not adding the charge to the customers at all - we are swallowing the customs charges. The price for a knocked in Special Reserve to a forum member is GBP225 and this includes all charges and shipping... I hope that makes sense.

The shapes and feel (and number in my collection!) and quality of the softs of M&H make them my no 1.
Gotta admit the whole Screaming Cat buying process has secured it the fondest place in my heart, though can't pretend it's not without a cost or difficulty being so far away.

No worries at all Rich! Always best to clear up any confusion!
We're just glad that we've been able to work out a good way of making our bats more accessible to the UK market.
Cheers, Andy
