Title: England Squad
Post by: stevie on April 29, 2009, 10:47:08 AM
Bell, Shah and Vaughn all not  includedmeans that Ravi Bopara will bat at 3. I think this could be a good decision because Bopara has a very good technique but the only thing I would worry about is if he gets to carried away at times with the shots he plays. Onions and Bresnan have both been called up and I think this is again a good decision.

Andrew Strauss (capt), James Anderson, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Paul Collingwood, Alastair Cook, Graham Onions, Monty Panesar, Kevin Pietersen, Matt Prior, Graeme Swann.

An exciting squad in my opinion - they haven't gone for the old guard players, and are attempting to move forward.

Not sure Bopara is ready for number 3 as he tends to be a bit loose early doors but we shall see, at least the selection has been bold in injecting some new fresh faces

I like Ravi @ three. But I think they should give James Foster a run-in...

If they go with the 4 front line bowlers then Foster should play but if they play 5 bowlers Prior needs to play as he is a better batsmen.
