Title: new bat for late middle order slogger
Post by: btotts on June 26, 2012, 11:29:02 AM
Hi
Having just come back to cricket after a long lay off  -  I am looking at getting a new bat .  My current bat is an early WW wand (2.8) made i think by Hunts County and still in almost perfect condition. At the time this bat was a revelation for me -  the pick up and profile allowing a much increased bat speed and led to me hitting the ball further than I had ever before with previous heavier bats and playing much later off the back foot.  The only downside to the wand being the complete lack of timber at the toe making driving on slow damp wickets perilous.

i know find myself drooling over big profiled, lowish middled creations - such as the B52 XL Woodstock tdf XL or even the  L and W ultra -  but worry that these will feel like planks compared to my trusty blade. I am a fairly big chap at 6'2 and 14 stone and not afraid of a little weight in a bat.  I am not event convinced about the Big edge thing -  any advice welcome. :(

PM one of the sponsors and talk through your requirements with them.
Hell4leather always get good reviews for instance, and the Hattori shape looks lovely.
