Title: a bargain bat and gloves!
Post by: swamidude on June 26, 2012, 03:04:08 PM
So a few weeks back I was planning a trip to visit Asad (had been thinking the end of this week) and just to see what he had I shot an e-mail to Ajit (onlinestockist). Now I know he is very unpopular on here, but I have had good dealings with him in the past and decided to see what he had available. At this point he offered me a deal I couldn't resist. I won't mention numbers (maybe over PM) but it was double digits for this stunner and the gloves together, including postage from India!

Overall his service was excellent, I believe he runs a shop in India and hence he can only reply at 6am GMT (before opening) and 1pm (after closing) but even so his communications were excellent.

He dispatched the kit last Tuesday, and it has just arrived here an hour ago, well packaged and extremely protected from any hazards in transport.

One complaint I do have however is that I requested a clear anti-scuff sheet to be sent, however he sent one with the fibre tape style which I prefer to stay away from, so I'll have to shop around to see where I can acquire one on the cheap.

The rebound from the blade is fantastic, and the edges are around 32mm. The spine is about 27mm from the edge height, and all this weighs in at a measly 2.9lbs! What's more it hardly feels like you're holding anything when wearing gloves, while in comparison my M&H Original, 1 oz heavier, feels like a bag of bricks!

The gloves are fabulous-although I haven't had the chance to test them yet in a game they fit great, and aren't too bulky. The palm material is supple but feels durable and provides a
great grip on the bat.

Looks quality.

Quite like the look of the gloves, are they smaller than their UK counter parts? I have smaller hands so that would perfect if they were.

Nice gear the SG stuff. If the gloves are Indian fit mens they will be similar to a small mens size over here.
