Title: Bat Fudge
Post by: Biggyd63 on July 04, 2012, 06:22:51 PM
Hi Everyone

Bought some bat fudge off Dean for £5 posted

Got it today, and immediately decided to apply it to my Aldred.

1. Put in microwave for a min or so (my microwave is pants so have to allow more time).
2. Ends up more waxy rather than being a solid lump.
3. Dries out/hardens really quickly so I decided to just "cake" it on all the exposed areas of wood.
4. Looked really lumpy, smeary, and overdone e.g put too much on. Thought that I had ruined the bat.
5. However, decided to leave it for 5mins as suggested
6. With a soft cloth decided to buff the bat up (it seems you have to put a lot of effort in)
7. It all starts to blend in, all the "lumpy bits" seem to disappear, smears go.
8. Shine starts to appear, and buffing gets easier as more and more wax is blended in, initially the wax can seem quite resistant to the buffering process.
9. Keep going until you are satisfied that wax has been absorbed.
10. My bat seems a little yellowish in colour, so I think its done.

Overall, annoying to start with (as I wasn't used to it, new product etc) but seems to be really effective. Good price, great service.

The only thing is do I apply another "coat"?

Hope this helps

Dan
