Any of you do it at your clubs? If so, what days and what for?
We generally only have them on a sunday and everything needs 3 votes...
5/10p a bye depending on who's keeping
50p-£1 for dropped/missed catches
50p for poor fielding
50p for a duck
Stuff like that...

One of my former clubs used to do this for Saturday league matches. There was a tariff card, and it included such items as all batsmen having a run target in order to achieve the max batting points. Top 6 were supposed to score at least 25 and bottom 5 10 apiece. £1 fine if you failed. There was a weekly croquet award for the worst piece of fielding, guaranteed to go to the person who let the ball run through their legs (£1). Ducks were 50p (on top of your £1 for failing to get your runs). Bowlers were 50p per wide/no ball. Decisions were made by the Fines chairman and the captain was fined for the teams loss too...
There was a cap of a tenner a game and the end of season curries were always well attended...

Our club in OZ does this for our games. All money goes towards end of season trips and new uniforms each year/when required.
It's really just a pisstake at the end of each game. Each player must stand and cop whatever fines the team throws at him. Fines range from poor fashion sense, to getting your picture in the paper, to being an idiot out on the booze the weekend before. It's awesome for team building and we really embrace it. Fines are 50cents each and capped at $5 per player each fines session.
-
There's also a £2.50 fine for forgetting the man of the match trophy.
We also have some giant rubber ducks to take home if you get a duck, and they're 50p each if you forget them. Isn't really a cap on how much you can be fined, but it only really happens on sunday friendlies

We do fines after every league game. £2 cap as we don't want to make it seem to much of an expense. We generally just find fault with each individual as much as possible and have a laugh about it. All money goes towards the beer kitty at the interclub game at the end of September.
-
We do fines that aren't performance related so we basically just take the mick out of each other after the game always ends up being about £2.50 after every game but it paid for a massive night out for all of us so its worth it in the end.
-
Our fines usually go towards the end of season nando's/curry. Can't really go for a proper night out, as a lot of our sunday team is underage... Also, wives/girlfriends/parents who are brave/stupid enough to come along can also be fined

I used to run the fines at my old club and we took it seriously!
We ended up with just short of £700 by the end of the season which went on our end of season trip to Haydock races. Pays for a few beers and a cheeky bet or two!
All fines were doubled on the last 2 games, and the fines were pretty big to start off! £5 for running the pro out was the biggest from memory.

Surely you get paid if you do that?

There's a team in the local pub league; they have a duck suit that has to be worn on the field by the latest guy in their team to get out without scoring...

We had a hat with duck on it that when you pulled it's string, quacked loudly. Last Duck had to wear that in the field.

No fines for us thank goodness - we are a pretty low level dads and lads team - trying to build a team for the future for the club - but guess who'd be paying twice as many fines :o

Our own pro! :D
