Received this today. Pickup/Balance is brilliant. Will comment on performance once I use it. Will let the pics do the rest of the review.

Woah... How much did this set you back?! Told myself that a SCat is THE bat I must try. :D

^ lost for words, that's beautiful
-
very very nice bat mate.
-
Very nice. I must say.
-
wow, simply superb!
-
Very nice bat. Cant go wrong with a SC.
-
No doubt an amazing bat but bat aside I really enjoyed the pictures. High resolution pictures for this bat is icing on the cake.
I hope this bat exceed your expectations and you score tons of runs with it bro!
-
Wow, that's a lovely stick. Wish I had the cash, it's love to try a sc
-
Beautiful.
-
I have tried a few bats in my time. The scats are right up at the top where they should be.
-
That is a wonderful profile undoubtedly but would everyone be raving about it if it was made by anyone else other than JM?
For the kind of money he charges for a bat he should really try to provide a better grip than that IMO.
-
he is apparently "relatively" cheap in Oz.
the exchange rate stings us badly in the UK.
-
lovely bat..
These bats have a distinctive sound off the mallet/ ball. I am playing with it this season and it is going great!

The grips match the stickers perfectly. I think they look good
-
this has become a trademark SC grip, might not be to everyones taste but its consistently on all bats he provides. I would imagine its good quality grip too considering the quality and cost of the bats.
-
That looks an absolute belter!
Makes me sad that I had to cancel my appointment the day before I was meant to go :(
-
The grip is decent still, its not as bad it looks.
-
thanks for the comments guys.
from a price perspective, this bat is not really more expensive then getting a top of the line english bat shipped to canada.
the grip i'm undecided about - will have to use it to confirm.
i've done the oiling, shoe goo, knocking for about 2 hours, and now on the throwdown stage. it seems to be a beauty and up there with my Thruxton SPS that i got from Asad, which was awesome.
-
Wow, one of the best looking bats i've seen on this forum!
-
Trust me guys, these are awesome bats. Been playing cricket for over 20 years and have sample most lines. The SCAT has been my best bat with perfect balance, super feel and a big middle that just seams to get bigger with age. My SCAT is now 3-4 years old, with many cracks through it, only surviving by the amount of fiberglass tape thats holding it together and it still goes like a train.
Great Choice and let us know how you go with it.
-
Is there another brand or maker that has/does a model with that shape?
It oozes power from the pictures but im wondering why its not a profile we see more often?
-

Agree, In Australia he will be cheaper to those earning Aus wages, for example, My brother in Law to be, 19 years old gone out to Perth to play cricket for their summer has a job paying $150 AUD per day, Nearly £100 a day for someone of his age back home is unheard of!
It's all relative
-
My SCAT is dying a low death but still goes well even though its got several cracks in the toe/edge

Sounds like you need to hit from the middle of the bat ;)
-
haha not much of it last season but a fair bit the season before thank you Robert..... ;) haha

Your spot on, I live in Perth and we have a few young english lads playing for us during your winter and they are getting paid $20 phr cash in hand (12.50 quid) for general labour work that they make a fiver back home.
It definitely is relevant, things are a little dearer here but the wages are better. In saying that, i see that the top of the line Kooka's and GN are nudging 500 quid in some of your specialised cricket shops, which are the same price here. You could buy a good quality SCAT here for 350 quid.

The profile is a more traditional profile with the meat in the spine, not the edges like todays contemporary styled bats. When i put my old SCAT against my new custom made (no name - not yet) the edges are tiny in comparison, however the ping is amazing. No power is lost via the smaller edges.
At the end of the day, the power comes from the meat of the bat and the SCAT has the equivalent, just shaped differently.

Nice work
-
edges must be worn out! Looks like a blatant attempt to get up the order for the CBF game ;)
-
haha edges are knackered on the inside edge but middle still in good working order :)

Mate when I visited 2 years ago I was in absolute heaven at Slater Gartrell in Midland!!
could not believe the amount of high quality bats they had in there.
who do you play for?

Go big or go home...

My mate, is a part owner of Slater& Gatrell and i live about 5 mins from the shop in a suburb called Guildford, near Lilac Oval ( my home ground ).
Play for Swan Athletic (WASTCA). Your right, the shop is a cricket heaven - believe it or not, the range has only got bigger since you last saw. I would say over a 1000 bats at the start of the cricket season.
-
Unbelievable, actually unbelievable!
That's the team my brother in law to be is playing for, Charlie is his name. Staying With Matt Pope.
I watched a couple games over there when we visited, Which grade you playing mate?

Bribing the opposition with Ayrtek RAWs and getting runs in return is not wise thing TomTek ;) :-[
We know how you scored runs, there is a reason why edges/toe are cracked :D ;)
-
Haha if only it was that easy.....had to work hard for a few of those runs seeing as I wasnt batting until #4/5 plus my brother tends to hog the strike if im ever in with him!
-
Tom - how gutted was your brother that you got a ton in the same game as he made 97*?
I assume it was the same game?
-
By the way, Scats are blinding bats!
Have one from a sponsored player which is a gun, even if it does have a number of surface cracks!
JM is a quality pod shaver! 8)

Haha he's a far better batsmen than me mate and I should have kicked on to score more as got out off a leading edge with 8 overs left to cut loose.
Looking forward to getting the SCAT back out tho again already
-
TomTek I think you have been really amused and have been mesmerizing Simmy's carbonfibre washroom collection. No wonder you have a "Bathroom collection" tab opened on your iPad :D
-
Haha that's what happens when u have an iPad that u seldom get to use mate as the other half is looking at spending money on the house/perfume/shoes/make-up etc :)
