Now where have I seen that profile before??  :D :D

http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=14835.75 (Page 6!)

I did see this bat the other day....Dan showed it to me but he didn't mention it was for you! If mine is anything to go by yours will be an absolute stunner....it's the bat by which I measure all the others!

the profile is slightly dufferent but the shape is a classic one similar to a certain dawid Malan shape he used to make

it about my 12 chase them and my battered laver pb are all i ever use in games

Good spot not sure why I have changed may bat style I have gone Off the big edged Asian type bats I love the hybrid

I told dan I wanted something different from the bats he made me before and he produced this for me

The wood to weight ratio is great the new quantity of quality counter I use is massive(hitting area size) and I asked for as little colour in the wood as possible he did that

I have always rated chase as bats but I think there turning out better bats than ever and dan and Adam need congratulating on that

Do Chase shape bats or make them from scratch?
Title: Re: Chase Custom
Post by: procricket on August 10, 2012, 10:58:21 AM
From scratch they have there own press and everything down at dummer

Its great to see batmakers who make there own bats. You could nearly count them on one hand

The spine height on that bat considering the weight is very good, I've seen myself lean towards more traditional shapes again, hope you score plenty with it!

Lovely looking profile there, the hitting area must be massive. Did you specifically ask for it without a toe guard? Very few custom bats seem to come with a toe guard. Is there a reason for this?

I could have had a toe guard or a Kevlar toe guard

I do never use toe guards I asked for finished bats in weight so I never have used a foetuses

Plus this is finished with a acetone spirit on the toe to help that too

Whats acetone spirit, is that like varnish to seal the wood and make it harder?

Post by: procricket on August 10, 2012, 10:03:29 PM
Seal the toe I just leave it sometimes oil if the feel dry but tend to just go with it

I was only saying yesterday that Chase bats rarely come up for sale on here. Looks like a very fine example of one will be offered to the forum fairly soon! I'm amazed your selling it Dave!

Very nice indeed - shame they can't modify it for you to get the pick up you really want.

I guess dan could I have not talked to him about it but some bats are best left as they are this is one of them

You never know I may keep it and see used it 3 times had 100 runs out of it plays very well indeed

Dave, I'm so tempted to go all 'admin' on you and change your username to 'bat tart'! The chase I had was an ugly bin bat, but even then, the finish was awesome. This shape doesn't do it for me, but I have no doubts it's a great bat

This bat is so so lovely!

I'd love to have it if you do decide to sell but fear it may be out of my price range currently :/
