How should I repair this? There is a sheet on the face. All advice appreciated

I wouldn't do anything, other than just carry on using it and send it for a refurb and new scuff sheet at the end of the season.

yeah not a major concern just some feathering of the wood where its been in contact with the ground

If you are really concerned, paint some pva glue on it to stiffen the fibres. When dry gently sand it off. - Then follow the advice from Buzz and go for a refurb at the end of the season.

Nothing huge to worry about. A little bit of PVA, a sanding, then a layer or 2 of shoe goo will do the trick. Overlap the faceguard with a little shoe goo too if it is right on the toe, to stop sand etc from getting under the face guard while tapping the bat at the crease or sliding your bat in. :)
