Title: adhesive on the bat face
Post by: joeylough on August 16, 2012, 06:04:23 PM: Hello, ive took some fibre tape of my bat and there is adhesive left on the bat. What is the best way to get rid of this?

Always annoying! I try and get an old credit card or something you can scrape it off with and then maybe a bit of white spirit try remove the stickyness of it.

Make sure it's angled with the cutting edge behind the direction you are scraping, so you don't end up taking wood off rather than just the excess adhesive. And always direction of grain.

Post by: SaadIjaz on August 17, 2012, 03:05:50 PM: A simple method I use is to get fine sanding paper and sand it down until just bits of strings remain.. This can then be hand picked.. Put a light coating of oil after to ensure moisture remains intact since you have sanded the edges a little.
