Ive spoken to asad and the bats ive narrowed down to is a salix, kook kahuna 1000 or a gray nicolls oblivion 5 star made from players grade willow. I am getting some pics sent when asad has time to. What would other people go with ? I have £230

yeh well I was gonna intentionally get a oblivion but im not sure i want to know after been ripped off, but i know salix always offer quality and performance on their bats. Never had a kook however I have kook softs and theyre of a really high standard

im quite away from asad so will be getting pics of them mate also ill ask asad how they perform of a mallet as I know hes very honest

I have tapped up some of the Salix bats Asad got hold of from Andrew, and they are seriously good!
As much as the others are good, I would go for a Salix from him if I were in your position?

If I had that cash and lived in England I'd be hooking up a time to go and see one of the custom makers on here, go and see the willow in the flesh, and get it made to my exact specs. And prob still have a bit of cash left over :)
Or if you had to pick from asads selection, go a salix

2.11 is to heavy for me, im looking for 2.7-2.8 maybe 2.9 depending on pick up

Salix would be my first choice... You could always wait for a really nice dynadrive :D

tbh im not that caught on the dynadrive or scoop as most people, i dunno why as theyre probably really good bats but thats just me

Well - there were a number of light Salix bats last time I was there that tapped up beautifully.
I was even tempted myself, even though they were light for me! :(

yeh also what salix would you recomend, ie pod, prestania

I get on best with the Praesantia, but others would prefer the Pod! It's a personnal thing and everyone will differ!!
They are qualty bats but choose whichever middle positon you prefer?

If Asad tells you a bat is good then it comes down to your preference...if I had a pick i would have said Salix but that is because I have had plenty of Kooks and GN but never a Salix...

Not to take a sale away from Asad but Lukeys have a grade 1 prasentia for 125 in 2.8/2.7 that is infact a very good deal...

I'm only amazed that they weren't gone within the first hour at those prices. TBH anyone buying them blind, then not liking them would have easily got their money back by selling them on.

There are that many custom bat makers across the country, I'd go talk to one of those to be honest. You can get a personal service and bat tailored to your needs, style, wickets and preference.
Failing that, if your heart is set on one of those bats mentioned above then I'd say the GN oblivion

Yes but Mr Toenails has now purchased his bat now, a beautiful salix off Asad I do believe.

Yes mate I've bought a beauty of asad, he's despatching it today so should have a review up by the end of the week it has many straight grains with a touch of heartwood on the inside edge from the pics I've received :D
