Here are pictures of a above mentioned bat. It's not mine, it's a team mate's bat that I am knocking in. I don't like it.
Basic figures are 39mm edges, 24mm toe and 59mm spine. It weighs around 2.10 and has a slightly bottom heavy pick-up but still picks up around what you'd expect for a 2.10 bat. It's a grade 2 willow blade as you can see in the pictures with a good helping of heartwood and unevenly spaced straight grains with a couple of blemishes. It has the now 'in' flat face and a smallish round handle with snake style grip and treble sprung handle. Unusually for an Indian bat it doesn't come with a factory fitted toe guard. What I don't like about it apart from the flat face is the massively concaved back, poor rear stickers and the 'TON' logo which has been applied with what I guess was a Sharpie. I know it's not a £300 top of the range bat (I don't know the exact RRP but Online Stockist have it for £75) but the finishing is average.
As for performance I have just oiled it so haven't really taken a mallet to it but a brief tap with a ball pre-oiling left me somewhat disappointed. My SS took a while to get going and that was a nice performing bat so I'm hopeful that this will be similar as it felt fairly dead. I'll have this with me for a few months now until nets to knock in so I'll be able to asses it over time, but right now, I'm glad I have my GM.
