With an excellent weather forecast it's rather annoying that my Saturday league games have finished. I have a Sunday friendly, so it's not a total washout, but I was wondering who else has entered sunny september without a game and who are the lucky ones with a few weeks left.
Isn't it about time leagues and friendlies were playing well into September. Weather always seems great!
-
next 2 saturdays and then we are done! hopefully the weather will be good for both weeks.
our sat league runs from end april to 2nd-3rd week of sept and sunday league from start of may to start of sept.
-
I have a last league game on Saturday. And even managed to sweet-talk the missus so that I have a cricket pass for Sunday too! 8) So I have a game both days....Awesome!
But I had better enjoy it as it's likely to be my last games of the season too!
From next week, mowing the lawns, clearing the garage and washing the cars will be my normal Sunday activity! :(
-
We in Esssex will be playing our final league game of the season.. Should be a good one, but won't be taking it too seriously as we finished 3rd from bottom this year..
Sunday was meant to play a friendly but game is cancelled now!
-
Last league away at Bude in Cornwall, furthest place to travel to all season but the grounds on a clifftop next to a beach resort so should be lovely!!!
-
I possibly have 3 Sunday friendlies the next 3 Sundays, and a Saturday interclub game on the 29th September. Just nothing on Saturdays until then and it's due to be 25c and sunny :-( .When I played in Yorkshire they would still be playing league for another 2 weeks (15th Sept this year).

Mate your post made me smile cos I have to do the same damn thing every once a month or so to get a chance to play on Sunday... I thought it was just me but seems like all the missus around the country need to be "sweet talked" to, to have a chance of playing a Sunday :-[.

We have 6 league games left

There will be a fair few of us who need to get a pass! I am ok for one day at the weekend, but playing the second day is only by special permission, and brownie points need to be earned beforehand!!
-
I'm all done for the season... :( League finished last week and I'm working the next 3 Sundays. It means I miss out on a game with the Hosk this week (that will be a good one mate, excellent sandwiches ;) ) and I miss our end of season tour the week after.
We really need to look at extending our season! For the last few years the weather going into September/October has been amazing, I usually judge it by how often I can get out on my motorcycle and last year and the year before I was out well into October.

Who are you playing for in Sunday Nick, was about to text you
-
playing for Barford at Radway, but I don't figure in their plans after the 9th.
-
Just sunday friendlies for the next few weeks, providing we can get an oppo
-
I have nothing, Season all done with, So if anyone needs a player around the Guildford/surrey region give me a shout :)

Ok, its Ashorne vs Tachbrook Sunday
-
bugger didn't know that! If you are short, I'll see with I can move my "game" with Barford to another week, they have some spares I think.
-
Game on Saturday, and then my stag, but hopefully I'll be able to squeeze a couple of sunday games in after that!

I'll give you a shout if you can manage a trip to the Woking badlands!!! :)

Ok mate, will fire Paul a text and let you know if your needed

Our league season is finished but have managed to arrange a friendly against Colesy's team for Saturday which will be our last match.
With the horribly wet summer it was very easy to find an opponent for the weekend, in fact I ended up having to go back to four sides to say we now had a fixture!
-
I think alot of clubs are looking to recoup lost revenue from all the cancellations. Not to mention many players have only played half the normal games they would.
-
Yes I think it's more people desperate to get a game after so many cancellations as the five sides that wanted to play us were all happy to play at our ground so they wouldn't have made any money on it really.
-
Game on Sunday whilst on tour, we also have a fixture on 22nd Sept vs Lisvane over the bridge so not quite done for the season yet!
-
Saturday is last league game and against local (about 200metres away) rivals and i believe we are playing to decide 2nd and 3rd place. Doing a £20 whip after the game and getting absolutely slaughtered after :D
Also have 3 weeks of friendlies on both days from next week on to wind up the season.
-
Last game for on Saturday!
Then roll on next April!

Ahhh Lisvane. We were rained off earlier this year :(
Normally we have Easton In Gordano last game of the season in late September. Small ground, pub garden/pub is the straight boundary one end, always get told off when we play ;)

EIG is a great ground for straight sixes! Played in their 6 a side comp this year and saw one of the biggest sixes I've ever seen, cleared the pub, main road and hedge on the other side...a challenge for you there perhaps?!
-
Even on a good day I would just clear the pub
-
Yea I've never even managed that there, safe to say that guy had a decent eye, beat us pretty much single handedly
-
My best effort there was hitting the roof of the pub and splitting the toe of the bat

I drive past that ground a couple of times a week and it looks tiny!
-
Looks like I have a friendly away to streatham and marlborough on sunday after all
-
2 games left hopefully I can boost my terrible average of 20 something!
-
You should see mine! Terrible for an opening bat... But then I play for love of the game than because I'm good!

Yea you can easily edge a six at one end if the bowling has any pace to it
-
I would have been playing however I recently started a new job which includes working Sunday's so my season is over.
A real shame because we were unable to play any Sunday games throughout the season and now we finally have games I am unable to play >:(
-
Ive basically got a month to go. Our last game will be 6th October! Mainly as we missed so many games we wanted to extend the season
-
Latest game I have is on the 23rd September... Have never played a game in October before, latest was 28th September in 2009 in the middle of the standard 'UK September Heatwave' which seems to always get to us the week after the season finishes!
-
Two games left for me
