Title: Is this repairable?
Post by: 400notout on September 12, 2012, 06:16:56 PM
After having a second look at my favourite bat which I tucked away after assuming it was a goner. I have given myself a little bit of hope that it might be repairable and usable without losing much performance. However, I would love to get a few opinions on this, as I tend to get pretty lucky and not break too many. Opinions please gents!

it will repair but as its gone all the way through it may not last very long. you could try dowelling it but as it looks like there is a couple of splits on the toe it wont always be very effective. if you are able to then give it a go yourself. stick another toe guard on it and tape it up.

what johnners said but i have repaired far worse and seen repairs that are still holding years later. i was told the glue is stronger than wood and once fixed it will be the wood  that will go first. possibly further up the crack.  tub of pva, clamp and rubber bands, give it a sand down. job done. as long as the pva gets into a crack all the way...
