According to Cricinfo, looks like RHB has been seriously badly affected by Maynard's death

In short, yes he has. there is a load of guilt going on there.

Sussex is a more likely destination than zummerzet

i guess he will be paid a reasonable amount at surrey so it has to be someone who can afford his wages. with sussex gettig rid of goodwin that could leave a gap, although he left as they couldnt justify his wages anymore. not sure where he would fit in with somerset. unless the likes of compton gets picked up for england they may have to drop the likes of jones or barrow which would be a shame after the way they have performed this year.

He was at Millfield with Buttler & Bedwetter so there is a connection there (believe he also had a few season playing club cricket with Glastonbury as well).  As a Somerset supporter I hope he comes as there is definately talent there.

this lad,as he is a lad, needs a break. very sad what happened to tom and he has not got over it yet.
a move may benefit him,got talent but needs stability.

KP may be playing more for Surrey maybe thinks a move would help his career

a lot of pressure as a young captain and perhaps a bit too much too son

hope it works our

thats if surrey can afford to keep him. ESPN report says no central contract means hes now staff and they have to pay him the full amount. they also have solanki coming in whos going to be on a decent amount. do surrey have the money to pay all these stars!

I am pretty sure KP will get a central contract, failing that surrey will negotiate carefully with KP and wont have to pay him that much, he will be playing loads of 2020 stuff around the world if he doesn't get an ECB contract.

Surrey have the cash, but it is the salary cap they have to watch.

The ECB salary cap was £1.8m last time I checked, and only 3 counties are anywhere near hitting it. I imagine that Surrey will still be able to get beneath it with KP as they are losing a few players this winter...

Durham actually exceded the cap and were fined.
