Title: Win a G1 English Willow Custom Made Cricket Bat
Post by: Howzat on June 04, 2008, 08:02:16 PM: Thanks to our forum sponsors CE Bats - owned and handmade by Chris Easby we are pleased to announce he in association with CustomBATS is giving away a custom made G1 english willow CE cricket bat

How will we give this away you ask? Well the 20/20 cup is fast approaching and each week we will choose something that you have to predict...
Each week you will be randomly drawn against another forum member in a head to head battle until we reach the final two! Whoever gets closer to the total will win, should two members get as close as each other then whoever has the most posts will win!

Each week the questions will be things such as...
How many runs will Hampshire make vs Middlesex
How many runs will Owais Shah make against Hants
etc

To prevent copying/cheating all Predictions will be PM'd to me ;D

In the event of a washout we will choose another game!

The draw will take place in 6 days time ALL ENTRIES MUST BE WITH ME BY TUESDAY 10th JUNE 12:00PM - Good luck!

PS. These bats are brill so admin are allowed to enter but we will submit our answers directly to Chris so that there is no cheating ;)

This rounds game involves Lancashire v Durham which is on Tuesday 17th June and live on Sky to add to the excitement!

The prediction is 'how many runs will the leading batsman score in the match'? Please PM me your guesses before Tuesday 4pm.

The same rules apply to the previous round, the closest prediction goes through to the next round, if its a tie the person with the most posts goes through.

If the match is called off due to rain then a match will be chosen the next day and guesses will be carried over.

Post by: Tom on June 12, 2008, 11:18:09 PM: As this was agreed beforehand, the 20/20's are a key part of the English game and it being a tournament meant that with the games being all the same format and all the same teams in you could try to predict on using recent form rather than just plain old guess.

With the internet everyone can also follow the scores, just as they would an international.

The game being used is on Tuesday 24th June and involves Essex v Sussex which is live on Sky.

The same rules apply to the previous round, the closest prediction goes through to the next round, if its a tie the person with the most posts goes through.

If the match is called off due to rain then a match will be chosen the next day and guesses will be carried over.

Yeah, it's worked really well so far. The only irritating thing for me is that in the head-to-head format you can be the second closest to the correct result but still get knocked out (as I was last night). Still, makes it more exciting and unpredictable I suppose.

I have too many bats by far already :D

The semi finals will require two predictions with the difference from the actual scores getting added together to give you your final prediction.

The predictions required are

1) How many runs will Phil Mustard score and

2) What will be the total runs scored?

All predictions need to be in by Monday 4pm as i will hopefully be going to the game myself, so will need time to post the predictions.

Example

Say you predict Mustard will score 20 and the total runs scored as 200 and the actual was 48 and 370 your score would be 198. The lowest out of the two players would obviously go through.

Any queries please let me know, all predictions PM'd to me as soon as possible please.

The final of the competition will be using the last quarter final game on Wednesday 9th July involving Warwickshire and Kent, this is becasue the semi final/final day is not until the 26th July which is a bit of a wait. I will post what prediction is required on the night of the Semi final result.

It hasn't stopped raining all day and the forecast is grim to say the least. The chances of any play tonight are less than 5%, shame as i have tickets for the game aswell!!!

All i can say is watch this space, with the weather forecast not looking much better this week, i can foresee problems getting the final of the competition played by wednesday, we may have to use games from the up and coming test matches or Pro40

What the prediction required is

1) How many runs will England score in the 1st innings and

2) How many runs will Kevin Pietersen score in the 1st innings.
