Title: what makes a bat "pick up well"

hi for my dt CAT (controlled assessment task) im doing a cricket bat which has sensors on it to tell you where you hit the shot for a training tool what do you think about it but one of my problems is that all my bats have had a (no swearing please) pickup but pinged well and i could play with it the school is ordering me a grade 2 cleft for my actual dt piece for my gsce so what should i do to make a bat pick up well ??                                                                                                                            also sorry for making so many topics i must sound like an overexcited corgi :')

also in acouple of weeks im going down to H4Ls workshop to pick up a bat and see how he makes them for myself videos only help so much :)

That's sneaky. IWant to make a cricket bat so I'll come up with a GCSE project that means the school has to buy me a cleft and tools. Genius!

Personally, I think it would cost the school less to buy you some crictech sheets...

Yes but the school don't know that and I wanted to make a bat anyways don't forget I have to put the sensorsds in so its kind off a laminate

Keep in mind the school may well have a CNC, just use a tried and tested bat profile, all the pieces from my DT consisted from things whipped up in CAD and whacked on a CNC. What type of sensors are you using mate?

They do but my teachers said I would get a higher mark if I made one handmade and one on a cnc I'm just using bog standard pressure sensors in the area in between the laminat part and the main wood depending on how much pressure etc it can create a pic of your bat showing where the shots you hit were on the bat :)

What's your design brief, that may help? Your teacher may be full of smelly brown stuff about losing marks, as long as you document it you should be fine. Sounds to me like your teacher just doesn't want to put in the work on their end.

if you want the bat to pickup well i would suggest raising the sweetspot and leaving the edge/spine a decent size in the shoulder of the bat
