Title: Something waiting for a net...
Post by: tim2000s on September 25, 2012, 10:58:58 AM
I've had this a little while and haven't yet used it in anger in a net. It's visited the indoor cage though, and seems comfortable in there, even if a little high spec for that...

It's one of the Laver prototype shapes, and weighing in at 2lb7.5 it's ideal for the Indoor game.Looking forward to the test against real balls to though...

Normally, I don't mind the hump back on the laver, ie the Ultra, but this looks a little weird!

I should take a photo of my V1200... Then you'd see the similarity.

why?  as noted in this thread there are plenty of popular bats that have done similar things before!

Like the shape or hate it, it's always nice to see a batmaker trying to innovate! Three cheers for that!

I love it personally!  :D

I had a V1200 as a kid, Infact, I think it may still be at my parent's house, but don't remember it looking anything like that!

I'm not saying I don't like it, I'm just saying it looks a little weird.  It looks designed for function rather than aesthetics, which I don't have a problem with

me too - though I wonder whether there is really an improvement in performance as a result....

Who knows? But if you don't make it you'll never know! That's the bit I like about it! Innovation for the sake of innovation! I wish more companies would be brave enough to do this kind of thing. Ok, so there are only so many bat shapes and, as said in this thread this is similar to a Slaz V1200 but Laver do keep coming up with interesting ideas so it is possible! I have massive respect for that...

It looks like the lovechild of a Jumbo and a Reflex.

Surely the Reflex asked the Jumbo to take precautions?  ;)

One can only assume said precautions failed. ;)

Tis indeed a lovely bat though.
