Post by: Cover_Drive on October 12, 2012, 03:16:34 PM
Was on Twitter and I spotted these bad boys, this lad Mike is teasing us on daily basis now. Yesterday it was those lovely gloves and now these, he is teasing all those who adore cricket and its equipment! Blimey!!!!

Here are the pads, get ready guys they are absolutely stunning!

Traditional;

What do you guys think of them?

Got to say the only issue being the font as said on the gloves.

I love the modern style as most I have seen like this don't have the knee locator, so these would be more comfortable.

Could do with the BB logo on the front.

Having used the modern ones a few times they're really protective, light and comfortable, perhaps a bit bulky to begin with but once they mould they really are nice pads. I like the look of the traditional pads, would expect them to be like most other pads of the shape but the branding is very nice. Only problem is perhaps the BB on the top hat is a little too big.

I'm not really a softs person, but doesn't all the pads for sale, especially traditional look the same?

Well idea is the same, all have canes etc so yes all traditionals have something in common.

Non leather instep is a big big negative, score a few centuries and there will a hole there

I agree that having the leather instep is ideal, but in reality it adds about £15 to the price of the pads in practice - which starts taking away the price differential of usind this new kit from blank bats to using other branded kit.

Personally I really like the pads and the glove designs, Tai and Canners you have done really well.
I also thing that if you move the branding towards the serif font that would be no bad thing (ditch the bauhaus 93 please!)

I didn't realise how much a style of font would be noticed, especially when it's only small and on the inside of the pads, which won't be seen?

Thanks for your positive words buzz, hoping you will be able to trial them pretty soon

They look nice, but that font is criminal. Use Myriad or something.

font is criminal, bit harsh if you ask me.....

you wont even see the inside of the pads when being worn....

Think he means the writing on the knee of the pad on the outside ... Should it not be the BB logo, still look like very good pads especially combined with the new split gloves.

i'll add a pair to the order, dont think the Puma ones i ordered from Pro Direct will ever turn up ..... the bat will cause some serious damage next season.
