Ill go against the grain of most of this forum, but If I was spending $700, id go into a cricket retailer and just buy a brand name. Why? Because you can choose between 100s of bats to get one the right weight and the right ping. I think the last two bats I have bought (both brands...GM and Spartan), have been two of the top five or so best bats which entered the shop I buy from (probably 1000 bats there). And if your selecting from a range like that, I don't think you can go wrong.

Price is very steep if it is, bit of a stigma attached to the name here as well.
