Just did a search of Callen bats on here and nothing came up. Seems alright, does anyone have any experience with them?!?

Blimey! $700 for top of the line!? I'd rather pay Julian

The shape is lovely, but at $700 I'm iffy. Ill go against the grain of most of this forum, but If I was spending $700, id go into a cricket retailer and just buy a brand name. Why? Because you can choose between 100s of bats to get one the right weight and the right ping. I think the last two bats I have bought (both brands...GM and Spartan), have been two of the top five or so best bats which entered the shop I buy from (probably 1000 bats there). And if your selecting from a range like that, I don't think you can go wrong.

I didn't look at it in depth but it seems as though he is making them from Australian willow?
Price is very steep if it is, bit of a stigma attached to the name here as well.

Doesn't Julian make from Australian willow as well?

Ian Callen pro'd up here in the Lancs League in the early and mid 80's. Can remember his bats back then, if his bats these days are anything like him, they will be explosive!!

For $700 i would go to a forum sponsor and get a custom made bat
