I'm considering giving up keeping.... I'm a batsman mainly, and I only took up keeping when I was younger because I got so bored fielding... Now I quite enjoy fielding, and I find keeping incredibly fatiguing mentally and I don't feel its up to the same standard as my batting. At my club I'm only being picked as a keeper because our batting is so strong, yet I don't really get any enjoyment, and I'd rather be playing at a lower level to get a chance to prove my batting. Has anyone else had the same feelings towards keeping, or any thoughts?

I was picked as a keeper when I was 12. That lasted one season. I didn't enjoy it at all and spent some time learning how to bat properly and then how to bowl fast. Much more enjoyable.
Keeping is the toughest job on the field.
