Nice work Sherlock, what was your first clue? ;)
-
Them softs are disgusting, very indian/pakistani looking make. From 'classy' GM to this. Not a good move for me!
-
I bet his accountant's pretty chuffed...

Yer I can imagine this is purely just for money and nothing else! Bet he's receiving a massive amount
-
Big loss to GM. No-one using the Icon for England now
-
Any cheap Trott players edition bats? :D

Could pave the way for Root or Vince to be GM's new young talisman at the top of the order.
-
Vince is not even close to being good enough mate! Stupidly over-rated! If Compton doesn't have a great tour don't be surprised to see Varun Chopra get a chance
-
If Compton fails it will be Root to try out next!
Would be good to see Root as his bowling is a bonus - he doesn't seem too bad with the ball?
Plus he is young and could build a decent future!
-
I rate Root massively but feel he may fall into the catorgary of never being international standard ( I hope I'm proved wrong ) I also hope England don't fall into the slump of struggling to find a regular opener over the next couple of years

I think they look completely different. The GM are a classic pad style. The NB are like halfway trying to be modern pads that just make them look cheap and nasty. My opinion anyway!

Will wait & see when product released as this may just be interim till full release ?
-
Wonder if Prior will now go to GM?

was about to ask if anyone knows where Prior will now go
cant imagine him in anything but Slazenger

Product is released in SA now. Have seen the catalogue, not too impressed.
-
Not great...
-
I think his move might have something to do with his brother Kenny Jackson's connection with New Balance in SA. Been trying to get the brand going over here for a couple of years now without a lot of success. This will certainly get them the exposure.
-
Found this on their Africa Facebook page.

This is what the range in SA will look like, not sure if this will be rolled out worldwide though.
-
That is some seriously fugly gear and branding.
-
Definately got a hint of Pony about it

Definately got a hint of Pony about it
In both the old sports brand and Rhyming slang 'Pony-and-trap' sense of the word.....
Not overly keen on NB's offering.....
-
I was referring to the brand but :D
-
I personally like the stickers! Remind me of the old aero ones.

-
Released because he wanted to go not because he wasn't wanted?
-
What a shame for such a classy batsman! It was great when he was at GM.
-
Shame as been with GM since a schoolboy.
-

"but we understand that players sometimes want to move on for commercial reasons. We wish him all the very best for his future career"

-
Ugly! Such a classy batsman Trott is, absolutely gutted to see such a great player signing with NB who are extremely ugly!
But ah well, money talks! Would have loved to see Trott going to Gray Nicolls even.
-
Cut backs in the sponsorship arena are happening across county cricket so no surprise people are chopping and changing brands at the top level too
-
Steyn was their original signing if I remember correctly
-
Their kit looks ugly. 10 yr old would better job in designing their kit.
-
they were the 3 we were told about but wasn't public knowledge so had to be kept that way
-
Yuck, NB should stick to making really wide running shoes.
-
Commentators at the moment talking about how Steyn can't get happy with his new boots. Not great news for a manufacturer whose expertise lies in footwear
-
i think trott has links with new blance i think he has a family working for them so i was told from some one in the trade
-

The Trott family is pretty well connected in the sports industry, Ian - Jonathan's dad used to run Varsity Sports in Cape Town.
-
something like that tbf i wasnt takeing much notice as they will go were there money is same as any thing eles i i got offered a lot more money for doing the same thing 90 percent of us would go for the extra doe
-
My mate from Bolton is heavily involved with New Balance the Trott was offered good money he said no more than that
