iv been on the forum for a short while now and iv seen the phrase "tk lam" pop up a fair bit, but have no clue what it is? can somebody help me out, thanks.

Tim Keeley made Laminate bat.

all makes sense now hahaha

you should add to that, really. A tk bat of this type will typically have a very thin, perhaps 3or 4 mm of wood glued to the face of a bat which has had a similar amount of wood removed from its face.
the idea of this is to increase the performance of the bat, rather than a bat which has had an extra bit of wood glued to its backside to make it look huge, like a CA Gel.
personally I think they aren't worth the extra money and a modern bat is more than good enough.
they are also illegal for use in most games of cricket anyway!

and they always seem to be for sale on this forum

There are quite common on t'forum and its still easy to forget that most punters would have no idea what one is, the benefits/advantages to using one and its legality within the game. The general cricket playing public are not aware of TK Lam's as a readily available product. I think that adds to its mystery.
