Title: Which Bat
Post by: pigeon016 on November 23, 2012, 08:07:01 AM
I Know that there are a lot of bats, I want to spend up to 200quid,
I have been looking at black cat jester as well as SAF mechten,
Some have even said to get a MSR...
Would like to know what you think? :)

I'd recommend spending just a little more and go for the Laver Signature

probably best - I mean, Newbery do make a lot of turkeys in their top end bats! :)

or look in the for sale section, you can get a "pro" gn for 130, or a cheap Halo.

my suggestion is you buy the £150 custom bat from fletchuk.

...and then ask him to make you a Cenkos?

Sure the Willow Baron will have some appropriate stickers lying around :)

Sorry, I've only got Canadian willow left lol

On a serious note,  get in touch if your interested. Its a nice bit of English willow, taps up better than it looks and it looks very good.

I'd say so. Honestly it's a nice bit of willow, shocked that it hasn't gone yet.

Can see that - been an odd year for selling gear though hasn't it?

Which i suspect is directly correlated to the worst summer in 80 years and various retailers going bust... Why buy kit you can't use?

Aye true - an additional factor being the clever marketing of some of our bigger sponsors such as IJC with their 30% off and pre-order a Dynadrive lines.

I'd strongly suggest you have a look at the forum sponsors and see what they have on offer. From there narrow down your selection to what you are looking for and chose from there.  You won't go far wrong, and most of the sponsors will be happy to give you some advice and guidence.  Failing that look in the for sale section, or as others have suggested go for Ryan's custom made.

Oh and don't write in red on your first forum post!

Welcome to the forum anyway!

There is no easy answer to your question - most of the sponsors no doubt could provide you with a blinding bat full of great performance! So that is not the issue!
If you know what kind of profile you like then that would be helpful!
Write down what weight you pefer, then kind of pickup, the middle position and the full spec of the kind of bat you're looking for - this will give you a checklist to go by! Your budget of 200 quid is enough to get you a superb bat!!
SAF do a fantastic bat, as do others on here. So it needs a decision you need to make. The last thing you need is for you to buy something else and still be thinking about that SAF Mechten you wanted!!!
So take your time and think carefully - you have a while until the season starts after all!

With 200 squids to spend, the world is definitely your lobster.
