You should provide stats if yourself, a bio about yourself! You've obviously got something if kookaburra sponsor you.

Awesome first post. I've missed the "I play for my school first XI, please sponsor me" threads....

I'm surprised you haven't set up a website with videos of you playing, and your stats and capability plastered across it in flashing script! Then all you have to do is email potential suppliers and let them see how good you are with falshy cover drives and big sixes!

I might do one of those in reverse, showcasing my hoicks across the line and gutsy play-and-misses.

If you do keep breaking your Kook bats then maybe you just need to take an extended break from all cricket until the technology catches up with your talent.....?

Hahahahaha! Sooo what sponsorship contract do you have with kook? It's just my mates sponsored btm and he's never really had bad stuff from them and it neer breaks. Hmmmm I can smell something that should be in the fields!!!

I think 'Sponsorship' in this case is going direct to the manufacturer and getting a discount  ;)

In which case everyone on here is sponsored!

If you really are good enough then you shouldn't need to be asking anyone about sponsorship.....they'll come to you...

Worth mentioning that the Lincs ECB is pretty average as ECB leagues go mate, places like Market Deeping and Boston aren't particularly strong sides!

seems odd that you have a puma user name and are claiming to have a sponsorship with kook.

if i were you I would knock your bats in properly and use the middle rather than the edges.

make do with what you have.

I think the best thing to do here is if you are after sponsorship is to contact the brands direct, they all tend to have clear sponsorship details on therewebsites.

But If it isn't county then you are looking at a discount fella.

Properly best next time to keep sponsorships in private rather than what seems like a little brag on the forum. Good luck with it.

I think my average was 40 with a top score of 17, a few red inkers in there....

As you can see we are a hard bunch to impress with bragging... Remember most of us have seen the Stig bat either in the flesh or via video footage... Mmm what a sight to behold ;) :D

Do we know who the stig is yet? Or are we waiting for him to release a book containing his identity?

Apparently he is playing overseas at the minute. That might help you find out....!

depends what gear buzz gets offered next season. That could help guide us to the identity.

If that's the case, then he should go play Yorkshire league for Meggies instead, and then if the numbers are still as good I'm sure someone would sign him.

And that help explains the 'Puma' as Pumas is the name of the midweek team he plays for

Don't knock him too much.
He is simply trying to look at what deals are available - just a shame he has not come across too well on his first posts! I guess at least he's honest about his intentions!! Just a shame that he may not be taken too seriously.

Puma - the forum is here for like-minded people to talk and share everything cricket...not just to kit you out in next seasons flash gear so that you can get more mirrror time!
Seriously, I genuinely hope you decide to be more involved in cricket talk as I'm sure that you could add some decent posts!  8)

Kookaburra sponsorship, well, isn't sponsorship. Its a fairly large discount. A guy who once played for Cambs and now sits on the verges of our first team, playing probably 10 second team games a season gets a discount from koos still, 4 years after his cambs appearance.

At least that was the situation until a few weeks ago when they changed their sponsorship system, the guy at my club no longer has his discount and plenty of others have seen their deals cancelled, and new applications are being turned away every day.

I suspect hes hunting round for new gear because kooks have cancelled his deal. Decent enough stats in a fairly good league (i've played against Bourne in his league in our local T20 comp, without their overseas pro we probably would have won. He took 80 odd wickets in the lincs prem and scored about 500 runs last year and Bourne still didnt win the league!) but i'm certain the criteria is CURRENT minor counties regular now kooks have changed their requirements.

Just my educated guess from putting the puzzle pieces together.
