Hello all. Here are some images of the 2013 soft goods from BlueRoom. No designs are finalised and we are just waiting on pads without the colour fade at the top to see if a solid silver would look better and the logo in pink rather than silver.
All feedback requested, positive and negative . It's a privilege to be part of the forum and see things not in circulation yet, finalised etc but its an even greater privilege for us to be able to show you and get all thoughts on where we are heading, should be heading and what you want to see on your cricket equipment.
Work is ongoing here and we may well be looking into bags, Wk gear and the like.
Please let us know anything with regards to the designs. Every little helps :)
Thanks
Liam.
Pads are similar to last year but new colour scheme and knee protection.
Gloves are shark tooth again as this was preferred before by customers, pittards palm again but colours are different.
Just let us know what you think guys. There's more on the way... Bats etc so I'll upload more images when I receive them

I think instead of two gloves the same it would better to have a different design?
Two different designs of gloves means two different markets you hit IMO
People like either shark tooth of similar, or the sausage type (Ryan loves the sausage)
Just my view anyway :)
-
Nice designs - I prefer the blue ones. Any idea on likely prices?

This is only the BOMBORA range of softs mate ;)
As I said, there's more to come, its just when I get the images through.

No new prices announced for 2013 so will be same as what is listed on the new website.

I do apologise mate! Look good though :)! Can't beat a bit of pink

Loving the look of the blue ones. Pink, not so sure, would be interesting to see the pads with the reversed silver/pink top.

That's exactly what I said to RP. So the reverse sample is being sorted to compare.

Blue gloves look excellent.
Pink is just a no no or as Simmy would put it (No Swearing Please) awful

Thanks for the honesty mate. This is exactly why we use the forum. Easy to say its all good even if you think otherwise. Genuine feedback is ultimately what were after
Thanks

The glass silver on the instep protector is a bit tracky, prefer the matt silver.

Very nice work mate. The blue IMO is the better option but the pink is quite subtle so I think will appeal to certain players. Pads are very traditional which looking at all the retro models coming back in for 2013 is what players are asking for. I think you have got very good softs for next year, traditional and classic with what looks like good quality gear. Looking foward to seeing the rest and the bats as heard very good things about company since being on forum.
-
It's all very generic so commenting on quality is a waste of time....if they're good enough for a hundred other manufacturers then I'm sure they're good enough for Blueroom! I like the colours though, Blueroom never go over the top and they haven't this time. Nice looking gear that I'm sure is great quality. I have seen it all before though......nothing new but a good solid effort that deserves to have a lot of fans.
-
Obviously we haven't seen the other kit yet but these traditional pads with 2 straps instead of 3 would be great. Not sure why no one does 2 strap traditional pads.
-
Personally think it all looks good. Would maybe make a few slight changes to the gloves.
I would keep the top hand little finger side protection silver but change the bottom hand index finger side protection from silver to white.

The base design of both the gloves and pads have been left for that exact reason. The quality, fit and comfort is outstanding. so why risk altering it if its already a winner?? Just good to freshen things up image wise with a few alterations in places, and of course a change in colour.
There has been whispers about RPC softs coming to the fold, those i expect would be incredible considering the bat labels that were produced. They were extremely popular on release last year so any matching softs would probably make a tasy alternative for anyone wanting something really special :)

last years pink gear was the more popular in the shop, but i agree with the blue being the nicer this time around. The softs altogether look a little more... upmarket in a way with the yellow and dark slate departing.
Just waiting on Simon or Rob to whip anymore pics my way to show you guys, but as you can imagine theres only two bodies down there and they have a lot on at the minute (as per usual) :) will get the bat stuff up the second i receive it.

great idea mate. I've sent you a pm.

do the gloves have the knots visible where they have tied down the fancy bits on the fingers?? All the top gloves do not have them visible all the amatuer versions have them visible. Once it goes you are knackered.

I'm not sure i understand what you mean?? visible knots? Do you mean the stitching on the glove, round the fingers etc or the actual panels on the fingers?? I've had 3 pairs of the gloves, granted last years design but its the same glove with regards to manufacturer, base design and quality of materials and I've never noticed any 'knots' or loose stitching, nor have i received any complaints or returns of that nature. The gloves and Pads are made to the standards of equipment you would buy off the shelf in any top end retailer. as a re the majority of other brands on here.

Love the baby pink split gloves, would definitely buy a pair of those

I couldn't say yes or no to that mate i'm afraid. I dont think they will be available to buy.... until more arrive or the design is finalised etc etc

Fair enough, I understand :(.
Having said that the gloves are impressive, I really like the look of them. The Salixishque design looks very good.
How is the fitting? Snuggy fit is best as that leaves little to no room for gloves to be twisted around.
I really like them and its not easy for me to like a particular gloves. Any idea when they would be available?
If you are allowed to sell the sample pair of pink ones then please let me know as I'd love to buy it..
-
theyre a very snug fit mate. Not as tight as SS etc which are super tight fit in Mens i think. ive had 3 sets of the gloves and love them. i have fat hands as well..... just dont bat with inners until theyre fully worn in... about 3-4 nets use i find, then its just perfect.
i will ask the pack man about selling any samples and will of course let you know. right now we are just establishing members views on both sets and prepping other areas for 2013.

Good looking kit and wouldn't have expected anything less of mr pack, my two penneth for what it's worth...
Has there been a pull away from the traditional yellow/blue for silver/black/blue?
I think both colour schemes look good but if the bats do feature yellow, it would be good to incorporate that into the gloves, however if not and its staying silver/black and blue as the photo shows, maybe having the second segment on the little finger black rather than silver, and having the 2nd and bottom segment of the index finger blue to tie it in with the rest of the glove, this would break it up quite nicely and look striking IMO. I also think spanky maybe onto something in terms of splitting up the side protection, maybe white on the pink design and black on the blue...

Agree with pedals about the gloves but the pads are slightly different than the Ss type cut point pads currently
I like the top hate and like, the styling of the pads
-
If we were to do an RPC set of softs then everything would be likely to change. More than likely sausage style gloves and a different classic style pad with the RPC colour scheme. I cant argue with pedals, the stuff is what we all see every year from other manufacturers but its that good a pad and glove its not surprising others use it.
And with regards to the yellow/slate accents as far as i know all labels are being re designed so the likely result will be to match the softs exactly, however they turn out. I think its a step in the right direction, a little more subtle but people like that nowadays. I know people were a big fan of the yellow so i doubt it will completely disappear
-
Can we have a time when the new range will be available in the shop to look at or buy? I'd also like the pink stuff to be kept and in the top of the range stuff as I'm not a fan of the yellow stuff. If all is good Rob will be taking about 1k of my hard earned money as Kookaburra just lost my custom.
-
I dont mind the pink gloves, if you put a charity behind it, like the mcgrath foundation you might get more sales?
-
Very nice will be purchasing some of these for sure
-
Looks good to me simple is best. Some manufacturers are getting a little liberal with their designs with their gear.
-
these gloves looks identical to the salix pod one gloves my first pair i purchased in 2009.

HI Liam,
I'm heading down to the Pack Cave on the 2nd of Feb with a view to a full kit out and more than likely some unnecessary impulse spending, Any idea if the new kit will be in by then?
You guys started netting yet? Getting itchy feet this end and would like some shiny new BR stuff to show off when starting ours 8)
Cheers
Karl

Love the blue, looks fantastic. Deffo not the pink though!

Can't quote an exact date BUT when I spoke to Rob on Thursday he mentioned around the 10th Feb (ish I think) so probably not for 2nd Feb. I'll ask Simon tomorrow and get back to you.
-
One thing I don't ike on any pad is having the inside padding (the bit in conact with the leg, where the model of the pad is printed) being in that material. When netting in shorts it does make your legs sweety, but I supose it can be easily wiped so no lasting damage to the pad.

I've started using a pair in the nets that I'm testing out. I'm thinking that after a fair bit of use (so I'll know by late feb) that branding might wear off. Hopefully not but from feeling and looking at it I fear it might. Needs putting into the fabric rather than printing on I think.

Cheers mate, it's appreciated. I may end up getting a stick whilst I'm there (amongst impulse buys no doubt) and put the softs on order. I'm guessing there will be some samples there to have a look at, even if they're not the finished article...

11th Feb (give or take a day!) is when the softs are due to arrive.
