Title: Slazenger V12 V1200 and V100
Post by: ursmasti on December 16, 2012, 09:47:19 PM
I brought these from ItsJustCricket (pre-ordered) and paul has hand-picked these for me.I guess i dont have to say anything about these how good they are looking at the pictures. I am sure some of you will have questions like how is feel, balance, ping ...so on all i will say is EXCELLENT!!! I never brought any Slazenger bats since last 4 yrs as far as i remember since they never attracted me with their profiles neither decals but this year i should say slazenger has done really wonderful job to be in market.
First about ItsJustCricket it took just less than few  calls and emails exchange for me to decide on the bats after speaking to paul.He has good knowledge on what he is selling so atleast i can trust him and go buy remind you this is my first time online purchase from any store in UK and i am not disappointed at all. I will come back to him anytime if i need anything even if its a grip for a bat. paul has done excellent job in knocking in the bat, all it will take for me is to take the bats to net for couple of times and i am ready to use it in the game.

V1200
2.8 SH Ultimate version
has about 10 straight grains no blemishes
Right on with balance ping and big edges i feel its like 2.6

v100
2.8 SH Ultimate version
has about 8 straight grains no blemishes or butterflys
Just feel little heavy than V1200 its a beauty i am not sure what TAS would do for my batting but something new and will let you guys know once i play with it.

V12
2.9 SH #147/200
has 13 straight grains
what can i say about this bat ..feels like 2.8 nice good edge size wonderful pick-up. I read few of them on this forum saying V12 are not that good not as same as Old version but in modern day game i dont want and old style bat i need big edges and ones which suits modern day pitches so i am happy with my purchase of V12 and i would recommend to anyone to give it a second thought before you say they are not olden -era bat.

Enjoy the pictures let me know if you have any questions

Excellent choice of bats and retailer, Paul really does hand-pick bats well, and offers great customer service on top of that. :) I hope they go well, and from what I have heard, the Slazenger bats have really impressed pretty much everyone! 8) You have no idea what kind of dilemma I am going through with all these lovely bats appearing left right and centre on the market! :-[

Nice looking sticks there. What's the finishing like on the v12? Heard of one or two that have been less than impressive and the couple I've seen in the flesh had wonky toes which you wouldn't expect on a bat at that price

The 2 we have are finished beautifully.

Paul IJC said the same and the two I saw were very nicely finished apart from the toes. Possibly just a couple slipped through sub par

It is a very round toe, I imagine they are all slightly different as it looks harder to craft than a 'normal' toe, with maybe a couple of ropey ones here and there.

Wouldn't have affected how they played at all just wasn't quite the ltd edition quality you'd expect

finish on V12 is beautiful. I am not sure if these are made in India. For sure V100 and V1200 are made in India there was a sticker on them saying Made in India. I should say even thought they are made in India the finish and work on these bats are really good u can compare them to Gray Nicolls Legend (both V100 and V1200)

Obviously a Slazenger man....and I feel that Slaz have taken a step forward in quality this season.
I'd be interested in knowing how these are playing so far, especially that V12  8)

I have been disappointed with the V1200s, at least from my experience of knocking them in.  The toe is completely dead, which is surprising given how much wood is behind it, and they are one of those bats that are sweet spot or nothing.  Of course, there's only so much you can gauge from knocking in a bat, but we've knocked in a few now in various grades and I'm unconvinced, so we're unlikely to stock them again, even though we get enquiries for them every week...

The ones I've picked up have all been rather bottom heavy.
