with the comments on other threads I wanted to ask of we are entering a golden age of bat branding?
we have the glorious vintage re-releases, like the v12, scoop, caerulex or Df
then we have the laser etched bats, like saf can do or willowsticks
then we have the brands like salix, Newbery and Chase which stick to a traditional yet modern theme,
then we have the likes of h4l and bulldog... marvellous.
shame the Asian brands haven't caught up.
stickers do sell bats, but I think we are spoilt for choice at the moment.
I haven't even mentioned puma, kook or GM...
-
Or the new chrome bb ones as they look minimal but classy
-
kook are sub continent remember buzz.
I like the mids branding on there bats very sleek better than before but your right it is brand heaven at the minute.
I saw some stickers the other day and i tend not to like them but they looked very fly
-
I would argue that the Subcontinent brands know their market
-
No. As printing, engraving and design techniques get better as will the variety and quality of the branding.
-
i suspect that is a good point alvaro.
I suspect SS for instance sales have risen in both contract and own label gear without changing much of there branding.
-
Do the subcontinent brands with the asian market in mind, change their branding as much as the worldwide brands?
Kookaburra seem to change their stickers every year (maybe to keep one step ahead of the fakers) where as CA/SS look the same every year pretty much.
-
Well, for one thing, a lot of the British/Aus big brands have copied the Asian approach to edge branding.
You instantly know what a bat is from these, especially if your front stickers are replaced by a Nike tick or a biscuit company.

I think we're in a good place because manufacturers can look both forward and back for inspiration. And because, for the most part, gaudy is not the "in" thing!
