Not sure if this has been discussed before, but when buying a custom made bat, what attributes of a batsmen suit the location of the middle on the bat? I.e, lower for one type of player, higher for another. I am unsure what shots the location enhances, etc. Thanks

the bounce of the pitches influences it aswell

I would generally say low middle for a driving/front foot orientated batsmen, whereas a back foot player might like a higher middle. As liam said, if in Aus, you may want a higher middle compared to a low middle for Eng!

Nice one Richie has said it all!

so at the moment there is not an off the shelf bat that has a sweetspot which would cover the low and high in one?
would that be down to the bat being unbalanced or is it because its too easy to do (less money due to a smaller range of bats etc)?

I know a custom bat could cater for an elongated middle. I tried to achieve this on the bat in the for sale section if you would like to take a look.
It doesn't effect balance, just doesn't define the shape of the bat aswell if you catch my drift.

Would people think that a mid middle would be the standar middle position? Like you dont have to hit it as low on the bat for the middle an when pulling you dont have to get it right up?
