I have been using a GM duffle for nets and have a GM duplex wheelie for match days to house everything I seem to carry around the countryside! As some of the other posts fine if your driving and at a ground with a reasonable changing room, but if not.....
Having at the latter part of last season changed my car I just can't quite fit my wheelie in the boot and the duffle is good and probably the way forward but could do with a bit extra room and a couple of pockets. So it's time to get shut of both of them and go for something in the middle - anyone got any recommendations (must have safe keeping for a couple of bars)?
Thanks

Should read a couple of bats!

This is the million dollar question that's been discussed a few times before! Until someone brings out a hybrid duffle/wheelie I think quite a few people will use both. I've got a Shamrock Duffle (if you can find one in the the for sale thread they're well worth the money) which I'll use for nets and away games, plus a Slazenger V1200 for hone games and storing all my kit in.
-
The new slazenger v360 duffle looks good, Paul at IJC did a video review on youtube and I think fletcheruk bought one a bit ago.
-
for normal people, a duffle is all you need.
for members of this forum you need a duffle just for your bats, then a big wheely for your softs and a third bag for your whites.
and if your name is Uzair or Pete, then you need a carvan to take your kit to nets and a heavy duty lorry for match days ;)
-
Yeah am getting that - a big bag is always a good hiding place for recent purchases!
Thanks for the feedback - like the look of a shamrock duffle, will have to keep my eyes open if anyone's selling one.
-
Alot of the guys at my club just use the Aero multi compartment bags and swear by them as well they do look good, but have to say i agree in that i use a small slaz bag for training and nets and then the big v1200 for game days
-
I had the same problem; I was using a salix wheelie and a Newbery duffle - I'm now fortunate to have a M&H leather bag which is in between the two, although I have to carry my bats separately...

Been looking on owzat-cricket and the only decent duffles are these

have to say the Newbury looks way retro

Hi mate I use a Salix duffle bag as quite cheap, great brand and very large. I also then have a M&H gym bag that keeps my whites, towel shower stuff in the main compartment and can fit gloves etc in the end pockets.
Hope that may help.

Hi mate, I agree: these are good options. Another one you might want to consider is the Slazenger V360. Technically it's still a duffle / rucksack, but it's the same capacity and size as most wheelie bags (except the massive stand ups): http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/cricket-bags-bat-covers-c3/slazenger-v360-holdall-cricket-bag-p498
Most of my team mates have last year's version (which is pretty much the same except for different colours) and all swear by them, and I do think they would be suitable for you too. Check out our video review too (next to the thumbnail) if you want a closer look... Hope this helps and best of luck with your search.

I will also consider Salix Duffle bag as well

I've got the kookaburra pro 1000 wheelie which is pretty much the same and I've never looked back ever since!

The Shamrock duffle is huge and a perfect marriage of the two I think!
-
Hi Guys
Thanks for the feedback and recommendations! - have watched the review from its just cricket of the V360 bag, looks good and do like all the pockets but after all the positive reviews have managed to lay my hands on a Shamrock duffle as like the padded internal bat covers to look after my prize possession (GN legend)!
As for the biggest wheelies out there Towson would guess the Aero bags are the biggest (would imagine you could fit the kitchen sink), but Arytek do a equivalent with a couple if external bar slots. Just depends on how big your wanting as all brands do a duplex GM (as I am getting rid of), Gray Nicholls, Newberry and the new Slazenger V1200 all look good!
-
For me it has to be the wheelie it looks so much better and can carry more stuff.
It also does not do your shoulders in.
-
Yup, and you always lose your box and lovingly packed snacks down the botom of a duffle - great idea, terrible in practice - wheelie every time for me!
-
Wheelie, easily. Never seen the appeal of a duffle.
