Title: Does Anyone Still Use a Coffin Bag?
Post by: SelectCricket on December 30, 2012, 06:17:39 PM
Was just thinking about my choice of bag for next season and thought about the old school coffin cases.
This is because of my big problem of using my bags so often (4-5 games a week) that they get wrecked in a season!
I paid just short of £100 last season on the Aero top of the range Stand Up Bag and it is all ripped at the bottom.

This looks awesome to me, especially because I need a huge bag due to excessive amounts of bats and I keep as well so there is huge amounts of kit to take around with me! But, I was always think about the problem with fitting bags in cars for away days.
Does anyone still use these?

Me :)
It's a very old one, without wheels and kills the arms, but boy does it keep the kit neat and tidy :)

I'll do a little video tomorrow to show my Kooka Pro 1000 bag from 2012. It was new around March time 2012 and after only 10 months is not really good enough to last another season even if I wanted it too. I see why coffins would solve this problem, won't be going for it myself though. I will be getting the top Aero bag this year I think :)

I have an old morrant one in the loft somewhere no wheels, got replaced by  a woodworm wheelie by my wife after I had a hernia.

Probably not used for 5 years or so.

Could make a comeback.

I used an almost identical coffin for last season and whilst it is great for keeping huge amounts of kit in fairly neatly, if space is an issue either for travelling or in changing rooms then think again

Have heard some complaints about a few brands 'stand-up' bags, either that they are too flimsy or that they don't actually stand up

Coffins are a pain in the (No Swearing Please) if you have to get 2 bags in the boot of a car and bug the hell out of everyone in the changing room. Not for me, majority of the team now use a duffle bag with a small holdall for clothes. Sae so much space in th changing room

Maybe not so much of an issue as drive large Volvo estate.

Some changing rooms are a problem due to size

It will fit in most smaller car boots, Clio, Golf, 206, but you might not get much else in
