I'm sure this may cause some conflicts, as the saying goes - "one mans junk is another mans treasure" ??? But I owned and used a puma octane and I hated it...
What about yours?
-
Had a Slazenger V200 Ultimate and it was the worst bat i have ever used.
Pick up was nice and looked good but the middle was the size of a pea, anywhere else on the bat just caused massive vibrations through the handle.
-
had a cheap GN dunno what it was but it was (No Swearing Please) lol
really didnt like nicks kipax either thought it was a plank
the msr net bat i have is shocking after netting with it
-
Do school bats count if so we had poly coated Gray nic's powerspots it was like using deadwood never left the pitch let alone the square. so most of us all brought our own bats to school from the year 10 to 11.
-
Hehehee had G nicolls dual T20 bat with double sided (No Swearing Please) (user given 1 day ban!) theory and i can easily say that was the worst bat i have ever used in my life. :(
Pickup of that was light as i ordered light one but from middle it was dud as there was no spine on that part, no matter what part the ball strikes it caused horrible viberations through my hands & wrists. :)

We had poly coat GN lasers from the lord taverners.

I bought one of the £18 Slazenger jobs from Sports Direct a few years ago when I first started playing. The ball didnt leave the crease let alone the square, even if you middled it (which I only accomplished once) you still felt vibration as if your arm was about to come off! Probably the worse £18 ever spent! I got great satisfaction from throwing it into the Bonfire that year!
-
Had a Octane too, terrible bat - kept thinking it would get better after bedding in, never did!
-
Slazenger V500 - utter pants!!!
-
GN Powerspot Tufcoat. The bat with no middle...
-
had quite a few rubbish ones actually
a V600 Ultimate
GM Maestro
A Kook - crown something or other, a waste of money all of them.

I had a bad Maestro, but the Powerspot took the biscuit closely followed by the V12.
-
GN Fusion. Hated the feel witht he wierd handle, couldn't time the ball consistently at all.
-
GN scoop that i bought for a friend. The worst bat ever - at least that particular piece of bat.
-
MSR net bat. Cracked through the toe in the first net and had no middle at all. In other terms a plank

recent experience?
-
it was in the summer so guess its recent

assume they replaced it for you? To be fair to Steve, he seems pretty good about such things.
-
I didn't talk to him about it. Just glued it up and gave it to one of my mates. Don't like getting into an argument/fuss about things like that unless they were pretty expsensive (It wasn't)

ours were definately the powerspot model but still genuinely gives me nightmares when i look at argos and see the poly coated bats there but then again my school loved doing things on the cheap, i think even Ali cook would have struggled with our bats
-
The worst one I had was a GM flare 707 that I bought online from JJB sports. Lovely profile but it felt like a plank even after knocking in for hours.
-
Puma classic 4000 was a plank. Worse bat I've bought...ever!
-
Bought one off here that broke new laws of physics for poor performance. Looked at the face every time in bewilderment after seeing the cleanest of middled hooky slogs barely make it past the square leg umpire wondering if the previous owner oiled it with treacle!
-
Funny enough mine was a newbery Navarone, just shocking all round really i bought it from Romida a few years back. They would not help so i contacted Newbery direct who were very good and allowed me to send to them and they sent me a Series 1 as a replacment.
-
Think mine is a toss up between a solitaire and if I realy honest a laver I bought off ebay.
What a conundrum best and worst are the same......
It taught me if your buying custom buy it yourself as it only custom to the person it was made for
-
Worst bat I've had... Probably the 2012 Kooka Recoil 750. Only used it in the nets but I just didn't like it. Apart from that, liked every bat I've owned so far. Kahuna's middle isn't quite where I want it but it's still awesome.

I scored my first ever ton using one of these! Must have got lucky and found the only decent one in the country!
-
Lol at everyone considering whether it's long enough since they sold a bat on here that they can now declare it was a plank. :D
-
GM Hero Original for me. Was ok out of the very middle, but anything slightly mistimed was horrible. A real let down considering my previous bat was a GM and was an absolute gun.
I wonder if people would be best treating bats like my dad does holidays. He never goes to the sane place twice as he reckons that even if he had a great time first time round the second time will never be as good.
-
Everyone who say they had a plank , would you say it was due to being over pressed??
-
Yes and no the 2 worst I had one had the life kicked out of it the other was massive but had a middle the size of a pea.
I suspect the problem was pressing in one case the solitaire the other it was just used too much before I got my hands o it.
-
Gm Icon Original Le was absolutely awful....
-
Newbery B52 bomber for me.
Hated it got most if my money back though
-
GM Maestro 5* and a Kook Bubble 5* Both were dreadful, both were extremely expensive at the time and both snapped within a season. As a result I have never bought another GM or Kook! Stupid really as I have used some great bats from these makers but I now have a mental block about spending good money on one!
-

Not sure. I know I've had bats that have been disappointing in their performance due to over pressing - an Australian Slazenger Bradman (V99.96) was one such candidate; lovely grains, but felt like it had been compressed between diamonds.
-
Kook Genisis something, has a wierd hard plastic cover on it which makes it brilliant for tennis ball/soft ball cricket
-
I had the Brian Lara 400 edition MRF and it was terrible, had the middle the size of a seasame seed and that was not even that great.

Must be the 1000 or the 500 I have the 10000 its a gun on the drive .
-
I had a GN Powerspot circa 1996. It was absolutely rubbish. Had nothing and made a horrible noise when you hit the ball. Best thing that ever happened to it was my brother leaving it out in the rain!
-

ahh i believe it was 500 2nd bat ever, still use it for tennis ball, wouldn't be a bad indoor bat
-
I had a Hawk ( doubt very much if it is the same Hawk as the UK one) in the early 80's and it didn't have a middle at all.. It was a present from my sister from her first pay... Didn't have the heart to tell her it was crap.
Thought that bat was cleansed from my memory you bastards
-
Charlie French bats x 2.
Over pressed horrible crap.
