Title: £1500 kit list!
Post by: jimster on January 03, 2013, 12:21:13 PM
If you had lets say a grand and a half to buy all the kit you needed for the upcoming season, so lets say bats, pads ,gloves ,helmets, thighpads and shoes what would you buy? Just curious

Leaving £1410 for fast cars, loose women or whatever else takes your fancy.

Slightly worrying that youd spend more on pads than a bat!

my kit is pretty decent and having bought it would leave about £600 out of your budget for a little bit of coaching (!) - which might be more useful than lots of really expensive bats...

You've obviously never been hit flush. I would always look to buy a box first up.

Well, I'd probably do this

I'd have 2 sets of kit

Set 1                                                   Set 2

Bat: Kahuna Players £310                      GN E41 500 £235
Pads: Kahuna Players £98                      GN Legend    £100
Gloves: Kahuna Players £78                   GN Legend    £72

Then I'd have

Masuri Elite Titanium - Navy - £110
Asics Strike Rates (2012) - £55
Playing clothes - £70
Box - £10
Strippers - £35
GN Players Bag - £70
Kook Pro Players Bag - £78
Custom Oakleys - £150
Grips, facing, normal extra stuff - £29

That should total £1500 exactly

I'd probably get stuff off the forum, soooo:

SAF Infinity
SAF Gloves
SAF Pads
SAF Duffle (the 4 cost me £300 together in a bundle)
Ayrtek Elite custom - £260
Asics Gel 335s - £35
Club kit - £50
Horizon socks - £10
Box - £5
Strippers - £35 (although depending on prices I'd love to try Stretton Fox!)
And then I'd splash out on some custom Oakleys - £150(?)

Would cost about £900 altogether, and then £600 left over for a holiday... Unless I've missed anything off there?

Slaz Ultimate pads

Adidas 22 yards - the gold ones
3 x Horizon socks

I watched Loose women on the TV once... Was NOT the show I thought it would be!

Robbie Savage was on it today which I think is the only way to make a terrible programme worse

If this money was only to be spent on cricket kit I'd get a Screaming Cat and some of those foxy thighguards first, then realise I've already got everything else I really want in terms of lid, softs, footwear and probably buy some more quality willow!

One of those sexy lams from Blank Bats, a H4L Tempo, a GN Scoop and a some variety of Asian-made bat, think that would all be just about within the budget!

I have to add that the new Bulldog (Barrera is it?) looks a rather appetizing prospect and the V12 might also be on my shopping list

I may have taste but as i now own all but the keeping pads at present and only 1 pair of the players gloves i now have no money lol.

Amazing kit though from Salix this year, it has always been great but they have taken to another level for this season

I'm just going to convert that to Aussie dollars and use that instead, it's easier. I've got $3069 (I'll round it to $3100) to work with.

Bat: Screaming Cat Small Mens - 2.7 3/4 - Professional Grade Willow - White GM Shock Absorba grip - Salix Pod stickers - $370
Helmet: Ayrtek RAW - $300
Gloves: Gray Nicolls Legend gloves - $150
Batting Pads: Gray Nicolls Legend pads - $180
Box: Kookaburra Players Protector - $10
Chest guard: Aero P1 chest protector - $55
Personal padding: Aero P1 strippers - $100
Arm guard: Gray Nicolls Elite arm guard - $35
Shoes: Asics Gel Gully 3  - $180
Wicketkeeping helmet: Masuri Wicketkeeping Helmet with Titanium grille - $225
Wicketkeeping pads: Puma Pulse 5000 wicketkeeping pads - $125
Wicketkeeping gloves: Kookaburra W Series 1000 wicketkeeping gloves - $275
Wicketkeeping inners: Kookaburra W1000 Chamois Padded Inners - $25
Sunglasses: Oakley Radarlock Pitch - $300
Bag: Aero stand up tour bag - $225

$2555

That still leaves me some money to bribe the umpires and scorers. :P

£1500 is $2300 AUD, not $3100.

Yeah, I accidently typed 2000 pound into Google instead of 1500. Eh, still only a dream.
