what is a 5* quality willow?? I would assume this to be at par with the willow used in the Mayhem series if not lower.

Can anyone shed light on the quality of the willow?

Call me cynical, but this looks like an excuse to sell cheaper bats at a higher price by labelling them limited edition ashes bats.
Surely it would have made more sense to use their 'test match' quality willow and sell it as ultra-exclusive best of the best bats.......just my thoughts on it anyway.
im not sure what 5* means anymore - they have test match, pro, special edition, limited edition blah blah blah - it all gets a little confusing to be honest.

I checked out some bats at Barrington Sports. One was a beauty almost up there with  the RP Kahuna in terms of ping and pick-up but the others were disappointing. Some of the Mayhem bats were better than these so called Special Editions.

The Blade ones which are G2 bleached willow were totally rubbish.

Maybe 20%-25% of the 100 0dd Kahunas maybe worth a go, but I rather buy The Beat which costs only £200-£210, but uses the top quality willow (as used in the RP Kahunas or the Kahuna Twins)

have to agree with sillyshilly on this one, im always a little bit sceptical of 'limited editions'.  coming from a marketing background myself I can assure you this is a tactic commonly employed and it doesn't necessarily mean you are getting a 'special' or 'valuable' product - just something with a fancy sticker on it.
