What are the Custom bat companies in Aus like out of interest? are there many? Obviously there is Screaming Cat, but is there a few more? maybe an equivelent of, H4L, Vulcan, Aldred, Black Cat??
-
there are a few, callen is one

Fisher
-
Also Bradbury is in WA.
-
Its already been mentioned, but Fisher is great. He makes pretty awesome bats and is based in Melbourne
There is also bluetongue sports and whitsunday cricket which I think offer custom bats, but I have no experience with either of these brands, so I can't be totally sure.
-
Not sure if they're a custom brand, but Venom Cricket are certainly a "boutique brand" from Tas I believe
-
I've just found out Bradbury do tours of their workshop. Given they're less than an hour from me, guess what I'm doing next time I have a free weekend?!

Had a team mat use whitsunday bats.....harsh going by one bat and set of softs but I'd steer clear of them personally! Will have to try fisher one day I was either going to go for him or SCAT in the past and went with scat. Used to be a bloke on the sunny coast QLD who made bats...IB I think they were...not sure what happened to him but alot of good players on the cost used to use them.
Theres also Willowizard think his bats get used alot in local grade cricket too.
-
A couple of blokes at my club have Fishers and both swear by them. There's also one with a Willow Wizard, and he reckons it "goes okay".
-
Yeah WilloWizard, the top end you can get them custom made in Aus. Fisher's are solid bats, traditionalish shapes mainly.
-
Glen Murphy's bats always looked good to me. He was a regular poster on CSF and was just getting started - not sure if he's still making

What about 7 sins cricket? The Aus arm of redback.

7 Sins is still run by Gary, he just had to have an alternative name as SA are called the Redbacks.

There was a guy in Perth who claimed to have been an apprentice of Julian Millichamp, who was making bats out of his garage. I can't find his website now, but I remember coming across it a couple of years ago.
-
There's a few more Aussie custom bat makers. Reg Taylor makes Sommers bats and his own Centurion range (possibly not anymore). There's Combat Willow, Gabba Sports, Southern Cross Cricket (Facebook), and Dingbat Sports (Facebook). Ingo Borleis isn't making bats anymore but is always up for a chat and does have bats left to sell. Glen Murphy isn't making at the moment.
Tailender - you haven't remembered the name of the Millichamp apprentice in Perth by any chance?
-
Where in Aus are you from DRob?
-
A few hours west of Sydney.

A few hours west of Sydney.'
