Just seen on twitter, hes tweet pics of new bats:
pic.twitter.com/Wjm1l9mz
they look rather huge bats as well!!
slazenger let him go?
-
Seemz Slazenger have let a few people finish their deals. Not quite sure WW would be paying big money for players to use their bats.
-
yeah I think they signed him last week. Woodworm seem to be back on the market and have signed a few players recently. Also there softs this year look better than ever.

No grooves on the shoulders anymore?
-
not personally a fan of the finishing around the toe. Looks to sharp for my liking.
-
Would I be right in thinking these are Indian made?
-
Also Josh Cobb has gone to them aswell
There was a thread recently about it, i'm sure there was someone else but can't remeber who it was!
-
Check out their website - Dan Vettori has gone across as well!

I'm not sure that the thread needs a question mark. You have pretty comprehensive proof.
-
he is still using the same batmaker and just restickering in my opinion
-
Maybe Prior will end up there as well!

yeah the question mark was a typo :/
however i am slightly confused as to why he would chose to go to woodworm, surely there are plenty of other companies who want a decent international all rounder
-
i had a Woodworm Flame at the hight of the Flintoff and KP being with them and i remember it being a very good bat, nice swell and the middle was quite low so good for our sort of pitches
-
Shame that they haven't got the shaved shoulders again

$$$$
There are more and more unsponsored international players who don't realise sponsors don't have as much cash to throw around. Tim seems a sensible lad and took what was offered I expect.
Better than nowt.

Not as if he is actually using their bats lol
-
really wouldn't be surprised if he get's his bats made locally and waits for the stickers in the post and then tweets this pic. Fulfils his sponsor obligations.
-
All made in Pakistand and India. Know few players who are unhappy with their bats.
Signed Jim Allenby aswel from Redback.

Yup, like Eoin Morgan, who has his new 'Slazengers' propped up against the spare sheets of stickers...

Could just be his old slazengers that he has had to put new stickers on to promote the new range? You can see the outline of old stickers on the bat. I'm not sure his bat maker would put the stickers on the bats for him only for him to take them off. Just my opinion
-
Morgan has a soft spot for certain Indian brands...
-
What is it with the move to Indian made bats on the international scene. We talk on this forum how EW and the craftsmen in england but this doesn't seem to make its way to international players. Are we small minded and are Indian made bats equal to the handmade prowess.
-
To me, (from what I read) the Indian ones go from ball one. Rather than knocking in a new one, have a net to knock it in.
We would all do it given the chance!
Most people gate knocking in new bats!
-
Most are down to pure convenience of being in India as apposed to waiting for bats to be shipped out borrow some of your fellow Indian IPL players bats like Hussey, AB, Bravo have all done in the past.
-
I'd be amazed if they were actually Morgan's bats. I've never seen a Slazenger player using the correct official Slazenger octoplus grip, other than Bresnan and Anderson.
-
The toes have a hint of being rounded off too, and Morgan's bats always look like someone hacked at the toe with a circular saw.
-
I'm sure sponsors would give players few set of stickers so they can apply to whichever bats they wish to apply on.
There are some companies who allow player to get a bat from anywhere and they reimburse them.
As other stated Asian bats tend to open up a lot quicker and perform sooner than English ones but then in terms of longevity they are not close to English mades, for us its vital as we pay as opposed to players who get them for free.
-
all this (No Swearing Please) about asian brands and english brands etc
open up a lot quicker? are u lot on drugs?
90% of the mainstreem bats are from asian companys
Kook
GN
Puma
Slaz
all bats off the shelf are pressed rock hard and take ages to play in! but i guess they may ask them to be pressed harder so they have less returns.
where as most of the small english bat makers are pressed perfectly and go straight away...
TK,H4L,salix etc
-
If I remember rightly, Morgan does love an SG...there was a photo of him somewhere on this forum with the SG branding on the side of his Slaz.
-
No disrespect to Tim Bresnan, but his stock has fallen massively since his elbow surgery.
His bowling is non threatening, in the Eng-SA series and the Ind-Eng series his bowling was dreadful.
He simply doesn't justify Slazenger sponsorship deal.

Yeh thats why they decided to drop a regular in the England squad. I suppose they dropped Matt Prior for a similar reason?

I wonder how much more international cricket he will actially play Woakes needs to be pushed forward in my view. Then again the some april English wickets may make him look at little more threatening...

Prior can pick any sponsor in the world. Slaz maybe short on cash or are saving it all for Kallis :D
Bresnan, isn't a first choice player anymore. So Slazenger may want to lower the wage bill

I think Anderson, Finn and Broad(if he's ever fit) are the main 3 seam bowlers for England.
In seaming conditions I'd have Onions ahead of Bresnan as well.
I can see him playing in ODIs and T20s. Not as much in Tests.
